I'm looking for this DVD release of the HK movie Satanic Crystals:

Do any of you know if this DVD is available anywhere? Cheers.

It's listed as an Indo film on that site but HKMDb lists it as a HK film, maybe there are different versions?

Or here:

Hmm, I had a look around at that store and they also have BRIGADE DES MOEURS (Dødsbrigaden/Todes Brigade) which they advertise as "uncut" altho it's heavily cut!

The Danish and Norwegian VHS are uncut.

Not sure if it's the right place, but anyone got any recommendations for me? I love gritty HK crime dramas/heroic bloodsheds, and wonders if anyone knows of an hidden gem à la "City on Fire", "The Big Heat" or "On the Run"? "School on Fire" is similar to what I search for, but it'd prefer something more... traditional if you will, less kids and more darkness hehe. Haven't seen much of John Woo - "Bullet in the Head" is on the way - but as much as I like his style, here I'm looking for something more gritty, more realistic. Not that I wouldn't want other recommendations, but this type of HK crime movies is what I prefer most so far.

Try the Shaw Brothers film Men from the Gutter. A forgotten, hard boiled action/crime classic that I always recommend people to check out.

Returning to the theme of Hong Kong ghost and horror movies, the following book is a useful guide in the English language of the genre dating from its heyday in the 80s

That looks interesting!

Just received this one (cheap used):
Looks like a fun companion to the previous book Sex and Zen & A Bullet in the Head which I already owned.
Both are older books and cover mainly 80s/90s HK films (the Shaws are also briefly mentioned) but since they are my main interest I don't mind that at all. ;)

The guy who wrote "Spooky Encounters" was on Asian Dvd Guide forum. I bought his SPOOKY FAMILY vcd from him. LOL.

Also check out the SB series THE CRIMINALS 1-5 (if you can find them that is. Very rare by now). The first one is on Celestial DVD and VCD, the rest are Celestial VCDs only.
