Just ordered a new copy. ;)

Cool! Bdc, if you need books on HK cinema I'll recommend that you get hold of the "Hong Kong Filmography, 1977 - 1997". It's without a doubt the most thorough book on HK films there is! I bought it because of Stephen Gladwin's recommendation here:

And I use it all the time. I got the cheaper paperback edition from Amazon UK.

Thanks for the recs, I'll check them!

I'm really a big fan of the style, saw quite a bit of them since I posted here. Long Arm of the Law, The Longest Nite, Full Alert and Tiger Cage are among my faves. I was surprised by the rare The Most Wanted too.

Not sure if it's the right place, but anyone got any recommendations for me? I love gritty HK crime dramas/heroic bloodsheds, and wonders if anyone knows of an hidden gem à la "City on Fire", "The Big Heat" or "On the Run"? "School on Fire" is similar to what I search for, but it'd prefer something more... traditional if you will, less kids and more darkness hehe. Haven't seen much of John Woo - "Bullet in the Head" is on the way - but as much as I like his style, here I'm looking for something more gritty, more realistic. Not that I wouldn't want other recommendations, but this type of HK crime movies is what I prefer most so far.

Try the Shaw Brothers film Men from the Gutter. A forgotten, hard boiled action/crime classic that I always recommend people to check out.

I recently bought a couple of City Connection dvd-r's from Buyoyo.
Started watching The Complicated Raping Case and there's something weird, either a cut or bad authoring as the first rape (on the table with the rich guy watching) is completely missing?
Does anyone have the City Connection dvd and is this normal?

I'm talking about this (scene from 1:54 onwards)
http://www.worldcinema2.net/2011/05/watch-...g-case_896.html

Btw noticed that this video has no sound for part of the scene,is that normal?

So many questions... :)
Thanks for reading.
