Over at Dvdmaniacs, the Discotek Media guy just listed a few VERY INTERESTING titles they're going to release in the new year:
Personally I so wish they'll do justice to Anthony Wong's TAXI HUNTER!! As I mentioned earlier in the year it was released on Malay dvd but unfortunately fullscreen. Hopefully these cats will get it right. :ph43r:

One of my fave dark Hong Kong horror movies from the 80s is BLACK MAGIC and the sequel, BLACK MAGIC 2, is even better! A couple months ago I was fortunate enough to get hold of a new fully letterboxed, subtitled, and uncut print of the film! Celestial put it up for download (for some stupid reason it was only for people in the US) about a year ago and it's this version I've got hold of now. I've had the old English dubbed, fullscreen version (that ran 10 min. shorter than the uncut version!!) since the mid 90s so it was AWESOME to finally watch it the way it's meant to be watched! More gore, more sex! As Fred Adelman said when he reviewed the new complete version; it's like a completely different film (incidentally I got my copy from Mr. Adelman. Thanks, Fred). And apparently it's going to get released on dvd soon!!! Fred's review on Critical Condition: http://www.critcononline.com/horror%20a%20...htm#BlackMagic2 |

Hey, just a tip about an old HK movie book from Eastern Heroes; In 1996 they published the reference book "Essential Guide To Deadly China Dolls". It's way out of print and altho you can obviously find it as a use copy I've recently discovered that they actually have new never used copies at the comic book store Forbidden Planet in London! I've seen it go for insane prices on eBay and Amazon but at Forbidden Planet it retails for a mere 7 pounds!! I ordered a copy yesterday fearing that it would be a question of an old page that hadn't been deleted but no, they DO have it in stock! The postage for Denmark was actually more than twice the price of the book! i.e. £16 however I'll gladly pay that to finally get it. I have no idea how good it is but their other book, "The Essential Guide To Hong Kong Movies" is pretty good so I hope this on is too. http://forbiddenplanet.com/33175-essential...uct-description

I found a poster (at a certain poster store on eBay) for this seemingly wild Taiwanese film. The title is Hsueh-Kang Crashed the Flower Lantern Fair and it was directed by a guy called Simon Li Kuo-Hua in 1970. There's an entry for it on Hong Kong Movie Data Base and it's described as a "fantasy film". Do any of you know if it's ever been released in any home-cinema format? Petcor80, do you know this one?

I'm looking for this DVD release of the HK movie Satanic Crystals: http://www.lfvw.com/satanic_crystals.htm ![]() Do any of you know if this DVD is available anywhere? Cheers. It's listed as an Indo film on that site but HKMDb lists it as a HK film, maybe there are different versions? |

Do any of you know what this is? The only info I have is the English cover title: BLOOD SISTER and altho I've found several films by that title they don't seem to be the right one. This one (according to the eBay seller's page) is from the 70s.
