The cover looks great, but unfortunately it doesn't have English subs, and only Italian and German audio options. Just wondering if anyone has seen it? Didn't know there was a hardcore version of this, I thought the Italian VHS was the only previously available release and it's softcore. Are we just talking short inserts or what?

There was indeed a fully hardcore version of the film. Can't honestly recall if it was inserts or not though, sorry. Will ask my friend... The Italian VHS release is a softcore edit but was still missing some extra raunchy footage that was present in a very rare Italian TV broadcast. The TV version was available on some collectors' lists back in the 1980s but in ropey quality. The video release edit was easier to come by over the years. However, my friend had an average-quality copy of the TV edit and reinstated footage from that hotter version into the pre-record VHS release version to make a composite representing the most complete version of the film ever to have been made available on video. He used to trade it and i have a copy he sent me many years back. Some extra stuff at the end i seem to recall as well as some extra masturbatory footage (softcore), sex footage (softcore) and some extra dialogue and sleaze... But no hardcore version has reared its ugly head since its original release and this release will be a must-have! UNEARTHED FILMS have an official DVD release of the film planned i believe also. I'd be keen to see whether the German DVD release is a sucky vault print and whether UNEARTHED have access to the original elements too... Should make for an interesting overview... |

This is SATAN'S BABY DOLL right? If so, Severin just released this, although it's a softcore version. Are you sure Unearthed is releasing it as well? It would seem an odd choice for them even if Severin hadn't just put it out, considering they only seem interested in extreme gore films which I don't think this is, is it? Unless I'm wrong about the movie, which I may very well be, I don't know. |

I've checked out the reviews on this and here is the rundown: Satan’s Baby Doll is short on dialog and filled with copious amounts of atmosphere. - 1000Bullets Here's how Satan's Baby Doll breaks down: talking, talking, (...) talking, talking... - DvdVerdict The whole thing runs a very tight 74 minutes, with Bianchi barely pausing... - Mondo Digital Even at 73 minutes the film is overlong and stretched to the breaking point. Boredom was my constant companion during my viewing. - Eccentric Cinema The films running time is only a mere seventy four minutes and yet so much happens in so little time. - 1000 Bullets Satan’s Baby Doll just isn’t as interesting as Malabimba. - AV Maniacs In many ways Satan’s Baby Doll is a superior film to its predecessor Malabimba - 1000 Bullets A minimalist remake of Andrea Bianchi's superior MALABIMBA. MALABIMBA is the real ticket. - Jess Franco State Satan's Baby Doll is the more atmospheric and effective than MALABIMBA - Giallo Fever MALABIMBA is at least worth a look thanks to its director’s go-for-broke style; avoid SATAN’S BABY DOLL like the plague. - Dvd Drive-In Satan's Baby Doll is almost superior, enjoying a more attainable atmosphere - Sexgoremutants |
