As you all can see these scan links are dead. :(

I'll go thru this and other threads and delete old posts with dead scans so if sometimes there's a reply to a non-existing post that's why.

thoose dutch tapes look great!
I see even a few tapes from a videothek that was in my home town "videtheek jumbo"
they only rented trash and porn, than I was to young to apreciate these movies, but if that videothek still would excisted they would have the biggest cult collection of all time!

these are my dutch vhs cover (all spaghetties)

I see even a few tapes from a videotheek that was in my home town "videotheek jumbo"

I picked up a box with 43 tapes on monday from someone who had advertised them on Marktplaats.nl. All very old and obscure tapes in original and very good looking oversized boxes!!! I think he, or someone he knows rather, picked these up from a Jumbo videotheek a long time ago and didn't touch them since. I was absolutely thrilled with some of the finds. And the guy totally didn't know what he had, so I had to pay almost no money for them, which was the icing on the cake.
Tonight I am dropping by at the home of a collector who is stopping collecting VHS. There I have to pay good (very reasonable actually) money for 19 tapes I selected from his collection. but again some excellent stuff is coming my way. Hopefully I'll have some pictures up later this evening!

yeah, I live in the Netherlands. Amsterdam to be exact. Capital city of the world :D
I haven't got that much westerns yet. Amongst the titles I'm picking up tonight there is one. Minnesota Clay. I have sold Carambola (a Bud Spencer *immitation* western!) on video for pleasure recently and I have in my collection at the moment:

Django ontmoet Sartana (see scan above)
Acquasanta Joe (on VPV)
Keoma (EVC)
De Rechter... en de Linkerhand van de Duivel (video for pleasure)

and also a more recent/sell thru release of 'a fistful of dollars'

I know rene from cinecityplanet... well not personally but I have bought some DVD's from him (Matalo! and other stuff) :) a lot of the Sunrise tapes he has for sale are sell thru/bootleg tapes though. But I think he is a very good seller. I want the video for pleasure tape of 'Thor de verschrikkelijke' he has for sale but I don't want to pay 20 euro's for it :D (again, it's a very fair price, but I am new to collecting on a serious level and not ready to pay these kind of figures yet ;))
(edit: for a Dutch tape :))

and, that is a great collection of westerns you've got there!!

this month I have spend a few hundered euros on tapes, that is something I have never done before! except...
The best stuff from my collection all comes from an amazingly large (and dusty, it was really like a timebubble... like the owner didn't get in any new tapes after the mid ninetees because all his shelves were already full or something ;)) videotheek in Den Haag that I discovered by accident. He had all these big boxes with movies I had never seen before (the nazi exploitation stuff, the big red sunrise tapes) so I just had to ask If I could buy some. And when the owner agreed I just had to buy a lot!!!
a Few years later a cult movie store was offering some Greek and Japanese tapes that I also just HAD to buy because I had never seen anything like that before and then there was this other time when the famous Amsterdam "Cult Videotheek" started to sell off it's tapes to avoid bankrupcy. That was one of my regular hangouts, so again I just had to invest money in that... but besides that it has only been second hand market finds. Anything that looks cool and costs 25 cents or so get's to go home with me :)

Over the last month I have been trading and buying on eBay to get a complete Sword&Sorcery collection together. My focus for the moment is Dutch/Belgian, Greek and UK. I felt I had to choose a genre and barbarian/post-apocalypse movies have a kind of nostalgic value to me. Also I really like fantasy artwork and Conan the Barbarian has always been and still is one of my favorite movies (I have defended it many time against people who think it's crappy camp/kid stuff!! :))
So now I feel I am a serious VHS collector instead of just hording anything I can find (I still do that though :)) and I also feel I have learned a lot about VHS over the past few months by spending time on fora like this one. Thanks to guys like you Videohunter!!
