The weird thing about Mr. Hoven is that he was one of the most popular german actors from the late 50ties to early 70ties and acted in nearly 100 movies . But when it comes to directing , he only seems to care for shock-value and sleaze , he even exploited his 5 year old boy to act a main role in Hexen (M.O.T.D. 2) ... I read his son hates him until today ...

He may not be a gifted director , but he surely is Germany`s Horror-Sleazer Nr.1 !

Can't stop thinking how great Castle of the Creeping Flesh could have turned out if only Hoven would have been content on producing and let Franco direct it.

Well, for what it's worth I like the film a lot. Is it a "good" film? Highly debatable. Does it work as eurotrash? Yes, yes and two thumbs up! In fact I much prefer it to MARK OF THE DEVIL. And it's not only based on the cast - I like good old uncle Udo just as much as the next guy but still never cared much for MOTD.

Lemoine's SEVEN WOMEN FOR SATAN is another highly recommended related film with more Lemoine-staring. The Mondo Macabro DVD is a must in any eurotrash collection.

Couldn't agree more with you. About other Lemoine vehicles, would someone have any info on Planets Are Against Us VHS releases? And if someone has one to spare, I'd be interested in buying or trading it.

I just checked the first 5 minutes for picture-quality (looks good ) , the opening scene is very promising ! Expect bloodshed like in the Okami movies ... RAW B)

I `ve read it`s Wu Ma`s 2nd movie , but in the first place I bought this tape cause I collect those german Greenwood tapes , and it`s one of their 3 rarest tapes . Of course I`ll post a review as soon as I`ll watch it entirely ;)

Had a modest load coming in today:

Enter the Ninja (RCA Columbia)
The Exterminator (EMI)

Thanks to Harm for that gruesome twosome.

And also:
Cheerleader Murdering Mom (HBO Pictures)
Masterblaster (Video Network)
Miami Golem (Van Gils Video)
Joysticks (Video Entertainment)
Ninja Protector Daredevils (NTA Home Video)
The New Barbarians (HAFBO) (oddly enough not the postapocalyptic movie with Fred Williamson, but a hardcore porn sword and sorcery flick!)
vraag naar EMPIRE films

with queensday and quite a few trades behind me, I made a few overviewshots of growing collections to share with you.

I also had the opurtunity to go to the remaining tape inventory of a large videotheek. There was mostly mid to late 80's US stuff left (besides more recent stuff), so nothing special, but still a few intersting finds there like two professor Oliver tapes (I don't know if the remaining two tv-movies of the series were ever released in the Netherlands so I might have it complete now)

the PA collection is still growing. The Belgian Films International label series especially, hope I can find more of these!
