No I remember! The film starts with a floating red being above the graves. Lousely made, but very funny to watch. |

That Mata Hari tape I didn't see...I don't have that tape. Ofcourse it's no Emanuelle flick but with Sylvia Kristel. If it's a genuine ex rental with Dutch subs I'm interested! |

So it's you who gets all the jpn tapes from ebay  Now seriously, I have a question: These jpn tapes are all in such mint condition that looks brand-new, not ex-rentals. Only a few are 100% ex-rentals. But if you can find them on the selves are they really rare? I mean, for us are rare anyway, but for Japan? Or you could find them easily in most stores in Tokyo? I know a few are extremely rare... One way or another Tokyo is far away and too expensive for me

well according to a few collector friends i have in japan , VHS r almost impossible to find these days...as i'm sure it's the same in greece....... also keep in mind....countries like JAPAN and the USA , VHS tapes have been available for sale and rent since the beginning of video with the exception of some WARNER BROS releases and PONY/CANYON releases in JAPAN and TIME LIFE and FOTOMAT releases in the USA to name a few.... so the term EX-RENTAL doesn't meet the same criteria as it does for some euorpean countries.... NOW, certain labels r much rarer than others and this is also the same with said titles for instance the greek lable IVC(international video club) is the equivilant rarity wise as CLARION in japan.... and perhaps VCG(video club of greece) is the equivelant of SONY/EXCITING in japan.. and just like some titles from greece r easily obtainable through sources , the same can be said for some titles from japan....... and i'm sure the same line of logic applies to all countries so i'd say if u flew to japan to try and score some vhs rarites, u'd be wasting ur time and money |

Some of the Japanese tapes I have say "for sale or rent" on the back. Does this mean all tapes from Japan were both for sale and rent? What I mean is: didn't they make different version for sell-thru and for rental? If that's the case it's very different from Denmark (and probably the rest of Europe) where the ex-rental tapes are of a much better quality than the sell-thru tapes simply because they were made to be watched hundreds of times whereas the tape thickness of a sell-thru is much thinner as it would only be made to be watched by the one person who bought it. So, VH, does this mean that the sell-thru/rental tapes from Japan were all of the more thick tape quality?? Jack |

I hear there's nice stuff to see in Japan even if you can't buy video tapes! Jack |

pictured the tape too because without a label on it I can't verivy it's originality. Tape is on the light side too, but not featherweight, I'd give it a 50/50 chance of being original.... cool sleeve though!
(am at work now so I can't make a scan of it, but thijsie already posted the tape in the Dutch VHS thread anyway)
