You only said;
"There is an uncut, Cantonese language dvd of Black Mask but needless to say it has no English subs. "

No I didn't.

"Bei der französischen DVD handelt es sich um eine leicht gekürzte Fassung des Actionhits. Sie ist NICHT identisch mit der Taiwan-DVD! Diverse Internet-Seiten, die das behaupten, liegen falsch!"

Babel Fish translation:

"With the French DVD concerns it an easily shortened version of the Actionhits. It is not identical to the Taiwan DVD! Various Internet sites, which maintain that, lie wrongly!"

Well, firstly, the Babel fish translation is incorrect. What a surprise ;) :lol: . "Eine leicht gekürzte Fassung" means a SLIGHTLY cut version. And secondly, I recall the French version being reported to be uncut on Asian Dvd Guide. If this isn't the case, my apologies, but that was the word on that release back when it came out. Question is just how much is "slightly cut"? How much is missing?

It's an "easily shortened version". :blink:

Now go and buy that dvd so we can compare it to other versions!

Black Mask:

Posted Image
Thunder Media, Taiwan:
4:3 (On sleeve, but on DVD it looks more like 1,85:1), R3 NTSC, Mandarin 2.0, 99'22* mins.

Posted Image
Manga Films, Spain:
1,85:1, R2 PAL, English 2.0, Spanish 1.0, 98'05* mins.

If you convert the runtime of the R2 PAL-disc to NTSC, you get this runtime; 102'16!! :huh:

*) Runtime measured without the 'company credits nag-screens' (Film start to end-credits end)!!!!

:huh: Interesting, Diabolikman. But I don't suppose you've sat down and compared them? 3 min longer could mean some extra scenes (or just a slower running speed, even after conversion).
