Great film, i hope Bill puts out more Turksploitation films in a similar vein. Only 500 individually numbered pieces (i've got 13/500) to so i wouldn't hang around to long for those toying with the idea of getting it. Follows the story of Death Wish really closely (even down to him leaving his groceries on the train) Only this time he gets the bastards who fucked up his family :ph43r: |

Hi Spara, I just got done watching it and Loved it. Loved the violent and bloody deaths of all the punks. Guess I waited a little long to order it as my copy is #453 outta 500 , but I did have BILL sign it for me on the sleeve with his...AUTOGRAPH! L.O.L (Not kidding though:)! |

Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case! Bill (of Onar) has mentioned numerous times there that they sell like shit (i.e. veeeery slowly!). You've got plenty of time to order a copy. I don't get it either, 500 copies is nothing, but that's the way it is. These Onar dvds get good reviews but don't sell anything other than to reviewers and Cinehound members.

Good luck with the new release Bill. It is about time you started having some luck with getting ONAR FILMS making money and i truly hope this is the one that breaks the wall down for you! I agree also with what has been suggested about English titling and text on the sleeves. Obviously, double-sided sleeves would be the ideal thing, but costs would become a factor that would prohibit it no doubt seeing as Bill always suffers rough returns on the releases. But maybe press releases via email and on his site that use English titling and text on the sleeve image to promote it, alongside the sleeve with the original text and title? Other than that, the other suggestion that was made about using an English title wit the original title underneath or something may be a good idea. Maybe there are those out there who come across the sleeve image and see all the foreign tite and text and instantly don't bother looking any further as they presume that it will never have subtitles or whatever. But i hope this goes well. Hopefully it will shift not only to the usual customer base but also to those who are more hardcore crime/polizia fanatics also... |

I couldn't agree with you more, Wayne. I think the lack of an English title (in capital letters on the front) keeps people away from buying Onar films. I realise Bill may not want to change the original title because then it's not ... the original title! But if you want to attract the attention of the non-Turko film fans then I think this is a think you have to do! You and I know it's CELLAT. It doesn't take anything away from the film if it says TURKISH DEATH WISH on the cover. Bill, I really think you ought to consider using the English fan-titles. With a film like CELLAT I'm sure some people who aren't turko trash film fans would have bought this DVD if they had known it was a Turkish Death Wish ripoff but they see it says CELLAT and don't know what the film is. And they DON'T bother to read the liner notes. Sad but true. |
