That's really weird! When I wrote my above post their site was gone and I was directed to another site that said you could buy the domain name.
2019 AD. The only blog that survived the nuclear holocaust: EN LEJEMORDER SER TILBAGE
The ONLY site in the world devoted entirely to trashy Filipino war flicks: When the Vietnam War raged... in the Philippines

I really believe that DVDs as the we know them will be obselete in about 10 years, maybe earlier. They will be like Laser Discs and present DVD players will be junk. There will be more compact formats and downloading will be the primary way people access movies new and old and cult.

My all time favorite format was the old VHS. I enjoy watching an old video complete with logo and having a battered old prerecord in oversize box more than any DVD. But I am in the extreme minority.

Not on this site you ain't. :D

And the CD is going the same way; down the toilet. The funny (and cool!!) thing is that the vinyl record is coming back (not that I ever stopped collecting vinyl records anyway).

Actually there is a way video could come back. I can't stand watching a DVD or any movie on a computer. I would rather watch a 25 year old videocassette on a vcr attached to my television. I work on a computer all day so I can't enjoy a movie on one.

Common, it will never come back. I like VHS much more too but life goes on. Even if there will be further VHS releases it will be never the same again. DVD is here to stay and downloads couldn't really harm it - MP3 didn't kill CDs.

As for the laserdiscs it's another story. Collectible already with very nice covers, I would never compare them with DVDs.

Dont know about the formats, but in ten years,we will be old farts. You can take my word for it.

All this vhs talk just makes me feel old. You know them kids download all the latest flicks even before released in the cinemas. Waiting a month or two for a new movie is a lot to them, they all have blogs and ipods and all those fancy small gadgets. These kids are thirtysomethings. These kids are the same age as me. Yet I feel old today. Maybe I should get a Blu Ray player...
