So where is the Japanese VHS (or a rip from it, seeing how obscure it is) available? I'm starting to believe the film in that tape is the one commonly refered to as Agowa Gongpo.

The are scenes here that don't appear in Chorake.

Just to turn this thread back on tracks...

Very nice english language anamorphic widescreen version with aspect ratio somewhere around 2.20:1 when stretched to correct scale, runs few seconds top 80 minutes. This is only version of this movie I've ever seen so I can't comment anything about possible cuts or such.

I had a Greek tape with that exact same crocodile on the cover. Unbelievable miniatures and effects!

Regarding the Thai DVD/VCD, what is the quality of that? And the running time, it is the same as the other versions?

This has to be my favorite killer crocodile flick. However I keep hearing the Thai version is identical to the US one. I have a copy of the recent Spanish DVD, which includes the Thai opening and ending sequences as extras. There seem to be quite a few differences in the editorial department. It starts with the buffalo scene, which occurs halfway in the US version, and there are many special effects shots not seen in that version too. Some snaps:

That shot is lifted from Hanuman vs. Seven Ultraman, it's Gomora's hand flying through the air.
