a follow up to my last thread (and a sidetrack in the Zuma thread). Here is looking to all our German language members:

There are a lot of movies released on DVD in Germany that I don't often see released anywhere else. barbarian movies, swashbucklers, east european fairytales, italian sex comedies, westerns and other b-goodness, for instance. Most of them however only have the German dub as language option. I think it would be interesting to get a few tips on good quality releases of cult movies that have not been (widely) distributed elsewhere in the world with either an English dub or English subtitles.

Maybe the same could go for French releases. There are a lot of good Japanese movies released there without English language options for instance, but a lot of them have now started to come out in other countries too. There could still be a few hidden gems out there though!

I found another one, and in my own collection no less :)
the Indonesian movie Satanic Crystals http://www.lfvw.com/satanic_crystals.htm
comes with an English dub. I haven't watched it yet (or know much about it other than that it looks like trashy fun and I have not seen it anywhere else) , but I think Jack might like it (if you do not already have it that is, Jack :))

If you like Peter Jacksons THE FRIGHTENERS you really ought to get the German special edition dvd set as it contains 4 dvd's, not 3 like the other SE. It's simply crammed full of all the stuff Miltos doesn't wanna see.

Hmm, I just noticed the added "...and French" in the headline. Huh?? Why French? Isn't this a thread to find out which German dvd's are out there that we can all use/understand (i.e. subbed or dubbed in the Queen's English)???
Otherwise we might as well add: "in any language other than German".

EDIT: forget what I just said!
I get it now. But maybe we should just leave this for German dvd's (as there's quite a few of them and I'll set up another thread for other Eng. dub dvd's released in "obscure" countries. :P
