Just picked up four Masumura films on disc from the now defunct US co. Fantoma Films. They are all amazing films and these are all going out of print. Fantoma had the Kenneth Angers, the Coffin Joes and THE GREAT SILENCE - all now going OOP. They did a lot of Fassbinder and Fuller too but I don't care as much about them. I'd say pick up any holes in your collection now before the prices inflate on The Ebay.

How many Coffin Joe films did they put out (and which ones)? Cheers.

Three.
The first two and AWAKENING OF THE BEAST. Good discs, worth having in a collection.

Mrs. got:

You know, Miltos sheds a few tears of happiness every time someone uses that title

It's listed on the IMDB as an alternate title! And in a recent article on Turkish cinema in the ULTRA VIOLENT magazine they also use Miltos' title seeming not to realize where it came from! Congradulations Miltos!!

I bought some Malaysian/ Indonesian horror on VCD. Six movies so far. Will buy more soon.
“Anak Pontianak”

Hey Blackwood, where did you find those Malay movies?

I just bought two old Malay ORANG MINYAK movies after having viewed SUMPAH PONTIANAK and being suitably impressed. But they (Cinemashops) didn't have ANAK PONTIANAK.

Other recent purchases:

Filipino 'pene' classic SABIK ... KASALANAN BA? (WWC review forthcoming).

Two unsubtitled Kim Ki-young DVDs - WOMAN OF FIRE '82 and FREE WOMAN from Yesasia. Also picked up a cheap disc of EROTIC GHOST STORY 3 in the same order.

3 subtitled Turkish erotic movies from CIKO.

And my first ever Blu-Ray purchases! NEW YORK RIPPER, TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and NIGHT OF THE WEREWOLF/VENGEANCE OF THE ZOMBIES!

... and now I'm broke!
