I didn't realise i HAD made it a "private" auction...?

I certainly had no intention of doing such a thing if indeed that is what has happened. There was nothing in the listing stage that asked me to check or uncheck whether i wanted to place it as a "private auction"...hmmm...gimme your thoughts and suggestions on how this can be rectified, if at all, ok?

As for you, Mr. Versey...get back to yer stinkin' video hellhole, bandido! :P

In response to the issue of "private auction"...i have looked over the page both via my Ebay account and also via public view of the auction page once signed out of my account and i can't see any mention of it being listed as a "private auction" or anything to suggest it is any different to any other standard Ebay auction listing. The ONLY thing i can maybe guess you may take exception to is that Ebay have made the bidders' identities "private". I never chose this and couldn't give a damn whether they were on show or hidden to be honest as i don't see as it in any way affects us or our auction to be honest! Bidders are bidders, no matter whether identities are kept hidden by Ebay or not.

If you are maybe suggesting that because Ebay has hidden the bidders' identities we may be bidding OURSELVES on our OWN auction...that seems a bit preposterous seeing as we could end up getting stuck with our own item at the end of the day and no money made! lol

Other than that, i see no area in which our auction is "private". Seems like everyone has access to it and access to the info, access to bid, etc...i don't get what the issue is...???

I am not sure whether Ebay allows for revealing the identities of bidders if they have listed them as "private" on an auction for some reason. I personally would be more than happy to list the Ebay account IDs of those who have bid so far as i only checked them yesterday myself and saw who may be bidding (at least one Cinehound member, i see! ;p). But i don't know if Ebay would be happy for me to invade the "privacy" of their enforced, erm, "privacy" of their members...?

Anyway...all are UK bidders thusfar and that is (maybe) all i am allowed to divulge unless someone can tell me otherwise about Ebay policy?

But (and i don't mean to sound schoolboy-ish by saying this) i can swear on my son's life that neither co-owner of SARCOPHILOUS FILMS has bid on their own item or in any way encouraged anyone to do so on their behalf. We are just as keen to see how this auction goes as everyone else! As i say, any skullduggery would just be self-defeating as we would not only lack the chance to get a true measure of the value placed on #666 by the public but also could possibly end up winning our own auction and not making a single penny on it! What would be the point?!

I will certainly look into the whole "private auction" thing in future though when listing anything as i did not see any area when creating the listing which asked if i wished to make it as such and so would not be happy to have Ebay making such decisions on my behalf. For the first 2 or 3 days i was totally unable to find the listing AT ALL on EBay, even when setting my search to "worldwide" and covering all mentions of the words "invitation", "hell", "Sarcophilous", "rarest", etc. in the description...so, it had me worried for a while as the only way i could check progress was signing into my account and looking. But now it is very easy to type in and find, for some reason...

Anyone else find it hard to find at first or was it just me???

Cheers Miseria!

The auction is going well so far and i hope it continues to do so...

We had planned to make some extra-special editions of all of our releases in this way and auction special one-off copies...but i think INVITATION TO HELL should remain the only release of our's that has a unique, one-off numbered copy as what would be the point in us doing the same with future releases, eh? A one-off special copy of SKARE...one-off special copy of ATLANTIS, etc, etc, etc...it would just undo what we hoped to achieve with ths #666 copy of INVITATION TO HELL, right?
This #666 copy of our debut release deserves to retain its status once sold so we will leave it at that. Any future releases we have in the works, such as SKARE, ATLANTIS, etc. will continue to have signed editions, etc. but i doubt we will make them ultra-limited to a set number of units like this first release...although, we DO have some titles lined up for end-2009/start-2010 that will no doubt be deserving of some extra-special treatment for extra-collectability... Just a quick reminder to anyone interested in this auction that it ends TONIGHT!

If you are interested in owning this one-off 2-Disc copy of our ultra-limited 1,000 pressing release of "INVITATION TO HELL" & "THE LAST NIGHT" then make sure you get your bids in before the close of auction at 11:34pm!

The end is nigh................................

Here is the link:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/INVITATION-TO-HELL-6...#124;240%3A1318

For some reason i neglected to leave a link here back when it started...weird! I definitely meant to as people had requested i do so, which makes me angry at my mistake in leaving it out of my posts! lol

We do indeed have a website Miseria:

www.sarcophilousfilms.com

The next release has had to be bumped back a couple of months while my partner deals with some personal stuff and that also means that all subsequent releases on our slate for the year will be bumped a little as a result (unless we can squeeze an extra one or two into the same month at some point). But the wait will be worth it, i am sure...
