:ph43r: I've been reading this thread at AV Maniacs of our own Jack with great interest: http://www.avmaniacs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40908 and thought it might be time then afterall, for our own ninja thread. What are the must see ninja flicks? and the craziest??? I heard that "five element ninja" is the best in these two regards, but this "Ninja Final Duel" sounds like the one to rule them all! My favourite has always been Enter the Ninja, because it has a nice gritty feel to it that was even a bit shocking to me when I saw it at a young and tender age  |

There's plenty, but Shô Kosugi & Franco Nero in Enter the Ninja + other ninja movies with Kosugi. Then there's Godfrey Ho with his Harrison ninja movies. You should watch one Godfey classic and after that decide if you actually want to see more of them. Godfrey's receipe for success is simple: Any movie + ninja footage = success! Then there's the American Ninjas. Would I recommend them? Never(!), but I think you should see them anyway. |

NINJA TERMINATOR have always been my favorite of the horde of cut-n-splice ninja's Joseph Lai's IFD Films & Arts unleashed upon an unsuspecting world. Why? This imdb review sums it up pretty good (even though the reviewer somehow fails to mention both Richard Harrisons Garfield telephone and the "drunken crab incident"):
![]() Although I have to say the shot-on-video ninja flick COMMANDO THE NINJa you sent me, Petcor, is almost up with this classic. |

a very cool movie indeed but not ninja. some jidaigeki / chambara pictures feature ninja though, they might even be the earliest examples of ninja in movies! so, good call, although other examples might be better like the shinobi-no mono series from the early 60's anyone knows the (confirmed) very first appearance of a ninja character in cinema??? |

:ph43r: :ph43r: Günter Müller of "Weird Asia" site put up a pretty good site called "Return of the Ninjas" only with ninja films. He doesn't update it anymore but there's tons of cool reviews and lists of ninja films. I recommend you check it out (and it's such a los to fandom that Günter doesn't wanna write anymore! ). http://mitglied.lycos.de/gollumslair/ninjaindex.htm |

Petcor80: I have greek tape of something called MASKED NINJA RED SHADOW, which is a 1967 TV series edited down to feature lenght. Of course it's more a live action superhero film than a ninja flick, but at least it's the first mention of the word "ninja" in any films that i've encountered... (then again i'm no expert at asian cinema) Can't wait to see BORN A NINJA... I'm a little bit sick and probably won't go to work tomorrow, I think I just realised how I will spend the afternoon...

Yeah, while making fake phonecalls to the suicide hotline. And maybe round off with an IFD ninja flick or two. A usual day in my life. |
