Wow, very nice find Jack. This movies just screams for a fan-made special edition DVD, adding the english audio to the dutch print as well including the original indonesian audio (with a set of dubtitles if a direct translation isn't possible) from the rare indonesian VCD. I realize that the indonesian audio would be a bit tricky to match up, as that version differs from the international (having Peter O'Brian replaced by a native actor for one), but perhaps it's not impossible?!? Also for extra features we have: 1) Cool scenes with "the other guy" from indonesian version (mabye even as side-by-side shots of the same scenes featuring Peter) 2) Interview with Peter O'Brian himself - if Ian can get in contact with him again! 3) A feature-length commentary track by Jack J So who will volunteer to get this thing started?

Thanks! When you refer to the "Dutch" version I'm sure you mean Belgian, right? The Dutch tape is fullscreen and has big Dutch subtitles. My tape is the version that was released in the French speaking part of Belgium. The beauty of the tape (apart from the good lbx picture) is that there's no interferring subtitles! The rest all sounds like a very good idea (but some of it probably hard work when it's done on a fan based scale). I don't know if adding the Indo audio to the international print would be possible, I seem to remember the Indonesian version runs a little shorter. Maybe this is a new project for Cteve (Matt) in Korea. By the way, people (and I'm quilty of this myself in the past) keep using the Indonesian title for THE INTRUDER when they refer to the original title. It's a minor detail but I belive it's incorrect!! The Peter O'Brian film was NEVER released as PEMBALASAN RAMBU. The international version never played in Indonesia or Malaysia. Only the local version (with the Indonesian actor) played in those markets and PEMBALASAN RAMBU is really only the title for the Indo version. The Peter O'Brian version is ONLY called THE INTRUDER. |

Thanks, and that's a nice French release too. They've retitled it "Mad Warrior". "Arizal Punjabi"? That's the first time I see someone using a surname for him. Usually he's just referred to as Arizal. |

wasn't there also a French version of the Intruder with a French actor? Then it would be strange to dub O'brian in French... |
