I received A MAN FROM HOLLAND on Ocean Shores VCD a couple of days ago and it turns out it's actually aka MAGNUM THUNDERBOLT!!! However, MAGNUM is from IFD and A MAN isn't (or at least the logo isn't at the beginning of the film). I haven't watched any of the two versions yet but could this be a question of the VCD carrying the original version and MAGNUM being a cut & paste film? The VCD is subtitled and the tape is dubbed in English. ![]()

Ahh, will be getting this soon MIRACULOUS FLOWER aka Wolf Devil Woman 3 / Phoenix the Ninja. According to OFDb the German, French and Greek tapes are cut which indicates it may very well be the dubbed, international version which is missing something. The OS laserdisk is uncut (still according to OFDb) so it'll be interesting to see if this tape is uncut. I don't even know if it's dubbed or subbed.

Thanks, Miltos. I got a bit worried when I saw that the seller doesn't normally send outside of the US but fortunately I could convince him to sell it to me.

Falkor recently put up some Ocean Shores ads on the kungfucinema board. Earlier in the thread he put an entire trade catalog (gone now). http://www.kungfucinema.com/forums/showthr...p?t=3756&page=6 |

Thanks for that link and info, Spannick! It's interesting cos I have the Hongkong Ocean Shores VCD which carries the same HK print as the Ocean Shores LD and is in Mandarin (no subs) but although my new Ocean Shores VHS is dubbed into English it seems it's not the English dubbed international version but the Hongkong version. :ph43r: I wish there was a subtitled print of the Mandarin version. Btw, I don't know if this was mentioned in the text on that page but the music is also completely different. The music in the dubbed HK print is almost elevator muzak and the music on the VCD is totally cool. Makes you wonder why they changed it. I also have the Danish VHS which carries the International "Phoenix the Ninja" version. |
