Hey, a few of us collect VCDs. Yes, that's VIDEO-CDs!! :D Even in this day and age when most new films get released on DVD and BLU-RAY!! Many films, especially from Asia (and Turkey) are only released on VCD so there is really no option otherwise. Also, personally I find many rare HK VCDs (like Ocean Shores) are fun to collect as they're getting quite rare.

This thread is for EVERYTHING on VCD but please notice that we also have threads especially for Indonesian, Hong Kong and Ocean Shores films (all formats). But there are no rules, post them where ever you like (and bare the consequences!! Muhahaha).

EDIT: I've deleted a lot of Bakeneko's posts as he had removed all his scans from his server. Nothing as boring as dead posts.

What's a good site for Indonesian films on VCD cheap ? Cinemashops.com has some nice Indonesian films (Barry Prima!) It seems though that Indonesian are more expensive overall then Bollywood films or is that site just more expensive ?

Well, firstly, nobody, anywhere, nowhere, can compete with the prices you'll find at Induna!!! I mean, official DVDs that cost 2-3 dollars. And VCDs at $1.50! No other store can compete with that so you're not gonna find Indonesian films in that price range.

I would say Cinemashops (located in Malaysia) is by far the best place to find old-skool Indo films. There are shops where you can find newer Indo horror films but they usually don't carry the old stuff. I have bought from Cienmashops many times. They can be slow and one time they forgot to write down the value (altho I asked them to do so) which meant I had to pay a hefty customs charge - but they're still the best place.

We actually have a thread for Asian stores (including a section for Indo stuff).

Eastern is a really good shop!! Many Malay releases of Indo and HK films.

Eastern can take forever to go thru but if you take the time you'll find plenty of stuff. That's where I got TAXI HUNTER when the only DVD was the Malay release!! Their search engine is not the best in the world and I just went thru all their categories title by title.

They require customers to send them scanned images of credit card. Is it safe?

I have only ordered from them once and that was two years ago. Unfortunately, I didn't keep the receipt (or maybe I didn't get a email one) but I can see from an email they sent me about the postage fee that the payment was via Credit card, however, I did not send them a scan of my card! So either I paid to their bank or maybe via PayPal I don't remember. Write and ask them.

- and they wrote to me and asked if the amount of postage fee was okay with me, haha.

PS: Very cool covers there!!

Btw, I have that Thai Dracula movie as well. It's DRAKULA TOK (1979). "Dracula" is played by the Thai actor Lor Tok who starred in no less than 1000 movies!!! According to this article there is also a cartoon based on his character in the film:

Lor Tok on Wiki:

(wauw, check some of those covers! I'm sure you've got some of those, Baleneko [and so do I, LOL] ).
