I'm after a good betamax vcr. Multistandard would be nice, but a pal machine will do just fine.

yes they are expensive.

I bought a couple of "cheap" beta players on ebay, the postal cost for theese machines were very high.....hightech from the 80's isnt light :P
but all machines died pretty fast. I have no nollige of how to fix a beta player...so they all ended up in the trash.....I got pretty frustrated and desided to buy a machine from the dutch guy with garentie, have the machine since a year or so, and it plays perfect! worth every cent!

believe on the pre-cerd forum is also a guy who fixes betaplayers and sells them....he might give you a better price.....believe his name is "the love butcher"

Well, Hans helped me out to get an very cheap VCC vcr from the dutch Marktplaats, shipping costs to Finland was some 30 euro i think and the VCR was also quite cheap and it's in good working order!

Kurt, if you want a cheap and working machine, ask if Guy or Hans can help you out! Thou i think Hans is quite busy at the moment with some other projects! ;)

But didn't you buy a Betamax player recently? What happened to that?

It's working, but the tape loader mechanism leaves a lot to be desired. You have to finger the tapes out.
A 100% fully functional one would be nice.
