I think a deal is a deal.

And an offer and an accepted offer is like a handshake-deal between two adults.
No fucking around!

Buy what you can afford!

best
and all good luck to you mike!

I agree.

Of course!

But Mike said he has absolutely no problems with these guys before and they always were good buyers...So I wonder why a honest buyer suddenly changes his attidude.

F@cking financial problems come like ...tsunami sometimes and you simply cannot face them :(

sure - financial problems can hit you like a truck...

questions:
-has mike his tapes back from a buyer who fell behind the payment plan?
-did none of the buyers who owe mike decent money ever buy a tape from someone else in the meantime?

Best

shitty situation...

I can understand Mike complety... a deal is a deal...

but for the others...
if finanical problems (like losing a job, getting divorced etc...) hit you that's not always your fault... so I can understand the trouble than...

but "changing your collecting habits" is a bullshit reason, and I have no respect for those who give that for not paying or making trouble with it...

"A plumber? on a sunday?"
"No, It's the Cinehound Mob-Squad, knocking at ya door"

Question 1: have not sent tapes yet
Question 2: yes!

It's a shame what's being done to you... When I buy something I pay fast and at once, you must pay right away, neither reserves nor all that, else you get this things. You are the best buyer/payer i ever knew and it's very sad to read this. When I dont have money, don't buy. Just that simple. If for any reason can't pay will try to sell some less important tapes 'cause you have to keep your word, that's my opinion and nothing will make me think different. And if even that you can't pay then you give clear and real explanations privately and not the old "Next week will do." and all that sh*t.
Years ago a member of this forum did the same, I exchanged a Jesus Franco tape 'cuase he offered good payment and after we did it, never heard about him any more. Of course I don't do it any more but had problems and had to sell some of my most beloved tapes. Won't give names becuase it's useless now but must say years ago also had problems with other members of the forum becuase of the same issue, payment.
I'm really sorry my friend for the abuse of trust and your financial issues, you're a good person and one of the greatest collectors around the world and do not deserve this shi*t. Next time you already know: No reserves, just cash.

Cheers from Spain

Jose

Of course it's very annoying what's happening. I don't know who the "buyers" are, don't know their reasons, so can't give and objetive opinion. Only thing can do is give you a good suggestion based on my vast experience in life: Never make plans with money you don't have.
cheers amigo and don't let this let you down ;)
'Salvare la faccia' is not a giallo!!!

I agree, my mistake maybe. But you would think a buyer has the decency to follow through on an agreed deal, especially if the tapes have been held for him for 7 months (!)

I have done huge deals with quite a few of y'all and were sometimes able to pay it off faster, sometimes slower. But I've always honored my commitment. Now I am in a stage where I am kicking around selling off my collection and would like to know, at that time, who owes Mike money so that I don't do any deals with them. Not to blacklist them, but to help set priorities for the people who can't set them themselves.

In other words, I think there should be a friendly list. Just a heads up to where all of the regulars can have the opportunity to point at Mike when we get an offer for a tape from any of these gentlemen...... That said, I don't know if people will be willing to see it that way. I certainly don't think announcing names out of ill-will or malice is the right move. It just probably wouldn't end well.

Agreed. Across all forums, pre-cert, filmsamling, skrackfilm, elistii etc.
