I think it is a good thing Mike brought this up, been wondering about how other members thought about this for quite a while...
I share your experiences and I think that those doing a lot of trades or sales through this great forum don't need any names to know very well who these few folks are...

Good to know I'm not the only one who is bugged by this behaviour, won't let it ruin the fun for myself as I very well know this mentality is just how some people are and I try to live up to my agreements myself so I can at least face myself in the mirror as far as trading VHS is concerned...

Sometimes unexpected financial difficulties can hit you hard but I've heard the "I now changed my collecting habits to other sorts of tapes" talk in the past as well... "oops!:

I have great love for dusty old VHS tapes and I try to keep my collecting about love for VHS in the first place so I try not to let it bug me because then it takes the essence out of what it once started with; PURE VIDEO LOVE!!!

I don't even agree with a change in personal circumstances or financial difficulties, not if the buyers had tapes reserved for over 7 months (and bought quite some tapes from other sources in the meantime also)

I will name and shame going forward unless the buyers make an effort and work with me.

Just thought I'd give you guys an update...

I have been in contact with both buyers and we are working towards a resolution. One of the buyers has agreed a monthly payment plan that would have his debt cleared in about 10 months while the other has also agreed to monthly paymernts with additional payments if possible (based on his own sales).

I hope this approach will help to put both cases to bed without any more major hassle or upset (naming and shaming).

Fingers crossed, i hope that video collectors are ultimatly Getleman that keep their word.

it's nice to see that things can still be arranged in a decent way and as the grown up people we are...
"A plumber? on a sunday?"
"No, It's the Cinehound Mob-Squad, knocking at ya door"

Im so glad the buyers and yourself have come to an arrangement over these payments for tapes etc.
You truly are a gentleman and im very sure the buyers appreciate it.

it just shows things can be worked out with a bit of negotiating.

As Mike knows I had a couple of similar situations over on the pre cert forum. It was amazing how, as soon as I mentioned the situations, with no names given, both people involved came onto the thread and apologised.

I do think subtle exposure in this way - avoiding the all out naming and shaming unless completely unavoidable - can motivate these non-payers to get off their arses and sort things out.

No one wants the stigma attached that failure to complete a deal is going to bring. Unless they want out of the collecting game forever. And lets face it, which collector ever leaves.... forever?

Yes, I understand...

You can post names and details if you like...But a good idea is to try hard to make updated arrangements.

I think that's fair enough, these people whoever they are have let Mike down.

The thing that puzzles me is that you've now said you don't mind if they get named but when that Daniel Frevert (xelluloid) from Italy actually ripped off members on different occasions things said about the scumbag were deleted so people couldn't be warned of his antics.

Alberto too I believe.
