So that everyone understands, I work in the oil industry, so it will take some time to review these movies before I ship any out. I basically work a 6-week on, 1-week off schedule, so it will be a while before I can go through every tape to make sure they play well before I ship. I am already back to work, so I can finish up my list and post it later next week. I will also be posting pictures at that time. All I ask is that you be patient with me. 851 Italian Crime tapes is no little task! ![]() Thanks again, everyone, for your kind words and support VIA pm. Once I publish the entire list next week I will start reserving tapes for interested parties. All the best amici! -Kenneth |

Another collector bites the dust. I'm sorry to hear about your new, different life. What is it? Kids? Less good job? A wife? The overall financial situation in the US? Well, anyhow, I'm sorry to hear about this, buddy. Btw, if you're referring to filmsamling.se it's not a dk (i.e. Danish) site but Swedish, and I wouldn't exactly call it "Scandinavian". I'm not sure a hell of a lot of Danes use it. There isn't really a united auction place for Scandinavians. |

Sad to hear you are giving up. You have a fantastic colection of Italian crime films on VHS. I'm sure you have some tapes I could need for my collection. Good luck with the sales, and I wish you all the best Kenneth. |

Thanks D-J. Look forward to helping you out any way I can. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, Jack. I have always planned on returning these back to market. Hoarding this amount of films and just staring at them on my walls is just kinda icky. I have wayyyyy too much money invested in this collection. If I were to die it is likely that they would get thrown away, as no one I associate with would no what to do with them. So in a sense, I am trying to do them justice. I am going to be using every single movie I am selling for my Database. And also future vhs I will buy. I'm just ready to let these 851 roll on back out and take a breather. Then I will start up my database, and start picking up other Italian Crime films to start filling in the blanks. ![]() That's the plan, man.

Well, you didn't hurt my feelings but I just thought it was sad to see a collector who has to part with his collection due to circumstances beyond his control. But if you're saying you had planned on it all along then I wasn't even correct in my assumption. Oh well. Had you really planned on selling them off again all along? That never occurred to me since I'm a collector who buys to keep - but if that was the plan then that's cool. Thanks for posting about them here first. Good luck with it all.

Yeah, I have mentioned it on here a few times. Don't get me wrong... I am not enthralled that I am selling them. It is a little sad. And there have been some personal changes in my life recently that have made me ready to do this now. But, this has been planned from the beginning. When I first got into Italian Crime, I realized that there were so many different cuts of film circulating. There were so many dubs circulating. And no one had put in the time to make a database to say what was what. So I decided to take on that role as a labor of love for the genre. I enjoy and love vhs, but it is the genre that got me where I am today. There is no reason for me to hold onto these tapes when they can give others the same smiles and sense of well-being from ownership as they gave me. And their stopping in my collection for a few years is going to benefit the Italian Crime fans for years to come. It's a win-win situation. Also, I don't believe that we own anything in life, but just purchase the right to manage things for a given point of time, but that's going off on a tangent... ![]() |

Update: I have had a family member go through all of my ntsc tapes while I have been working. Thankfully only about 10 of 150 are messed up. They are not important ones, either. So that news I wanted to share. The bad news is that after checking a few pal tapes, all of a sudden I developed major problems with all 3 good pal vcrs that I own. This is a setback as I won't sell tapes I cannot check. I have ordered a second jvc 9700 from Germany and it will probably take another week or two to get before I can start checking tapes again. I certainly hope it does not arrive damaged. I will keep you informed of my progress. All the best. |
