Hello Okerlo, I'm aware of the existence of "SchleFaZ" on Tele5, thank god I never saw a second of it as it probably would give me the urge to vomit instantly.

They even ridiculed a film (Gezora-Ganime-Kamêba - Kessen: Nankai no daikaijû) by Ishirô Honda, my favourite director bar none, which is completely unforgivable.

There was a time when I even liked Oliver Kalkofe (back when he used to mock game shows, reality-TV "stars" and those horrible, horrible German talkshows),
but since he felt it neccessary to ridicule old cult films on TV (and became himself what he used to criticize), he literally "died" for me.

A lot of effort, creativity, and talent went into making these films back in the days, qualities those who ridicule them in this day and age lack completely.

In any case, thank you for supporting my hate for the term "trash movie". I'm not alone!?!!!! :P

Jack, you are right, there was Mirek's thread on FB I guess. I'm well aware that many "fans" probably don't really mean it that way, but for me, "trash" means
"trash", and I can't see how that's not derogatory.
Some fans may even think of the term as something positive, or honouring (?) - I just can't see it that way.

Now, what Arte did which I find totally, utterly unacceptable is to basically label ANY fantastic film, ANY genre film as "trash". To me, that's very offensive.

For me, the internet generation (read: "critics" of this day and age) generally tends to often treat old films in a very arrogant, even abusive way, many times also combined with a serious
lack of knowledge about subject matter.

And that's just a very sad thing.

Sorry this went way off toppic.

No worries, mate. At least we're having a conversation on Cinehound which sadly isn't the norm any longer. :hello!:

I've found a bootlegger who has BRANDSTIFTER and I've just ordered a copy. He's somewhere in Europe. I'll let you know when I get it.

Also, while I still haven't got hold of a copy of VERFLUCHTE LIEBE DEUTSCHER FILM, I've just discovered there's actually a new follow-up film called OFFENE WUNDE DEUTSCHER FILM.

A couple of months back I asked about a dvd release on the official facebook page but they fucking deleted my comment. Someone else had asked the same and they deleted his comment as well. Cunts. Not very customer orientated if you ask me. :(

Oh for fuck's sake! Klaus Lemke's UNTERWÄSCHELÜGEN was on ZDF the other day and I missed it. It's not on DVD. You can watch it for free on their webpage but needless to say it's limited to people in Germany, Austria and Switzerland - which isn't where I'm at. Bummer! I tried hidemyass but to no avail. :(
