Last Up-dated 27/4/09 G'day and Welcome to The Chronicle Chamber Forums! While we are pretty laid back here at the CC Forums we do ask that you read through the following before posting. New Members: Please be sure to read THE FOLLOWING Rule for posting: •No spamming the forums. This includes repeating the same things over and over. It just annoys people and makes a whole lot of rot users have to wade through. •Please try to avoid double posting. If you must make another post right after a previous one make sure it’s for a good reason. Otherwise, simply edit your first post and include your new text there. •Inserting an irrelevant comment to a thread for the purpose of interruption. •Bumping of threads simply so your post can get attention. •Fun topics are fine for the Misty Mountains but spam is not allowed anywhere on the board. The Misty Mountains is also a bit more lenient with topics that aren't too serious and going off-topic is normal in this forum only. •Use of inappropriate language is not permitted. Please also be aware that this is an international board. What may not offend you may be offensive to someone else. •If you're unsure if a word is going to be considered swearing, use an alternative word to be safe or PM the Admin to check. One shouldn't need to swear to get their point across to members. Failure to comply with this will result in a public warning. •No posting of illegal or illicit material/files. Any users deemed to be posting such material will be banned without warning. •Multiple User Names are not permitted. If you need to change your user name for some reason, please contact one of the Admin first. Multiple accounts per user are not permitted and posting with multiple accounts could result in immediate banning. Obviously there may be more than one family member using the same IP address and there for that address will have more than one User. If this is the case please let the Admin know. Creating new users to avoid banning is NOT allowed, and doesn't work anyway as there are ways around that we can take. •No Flaming. Flaming consists of being unreasonably disagreeable or hostile in a reply to a post, especially with regards to an opinion or situation that you don't agree with. If you have an issue with any post, rather than attacking other members or making a scene, it's your duty to inform the admin privately so they can review the post. Members who flame others will be warned. Signature and Avatar Guidelines •Avatars - must be 90 X 90 pixels and no larger than 50kb. They must be in gif, jpg or png format. NO flash avatars, please. If your ave does not appear correctly (pixelated, etc) please contact the Admin as your ave setting may have to be changed. The forums also has a very cool set of pre-loaded Phantom and Mandrake avatars you can choose from. We suggest that all users have an avatar. This will help other recognise you when you post and can also be an extension of your personality. •Signatures - please keep the lines of text to a minimum. Graphics are allowed, but they must not have a total height over 200 pixels or a width of over 500 pixels and should not exceed 40KB. The Warning System At the bottom of your Name plate (where your user name and/or Avatar appear) in each post you will notice the word Warn with a percentage next to it. This warning level is to warn members how close they are to being banned. Once the percentage reaches 100% the member will be band. Your warning level will increase if you cause any sort of trouble on the forums, and the level goes up by 20% increments each warning, which gives you 5 chances. Also, you will be given a public warning in the offending post. However, some offences will cause your warning to go up by more than 20% while others will cause you to be banned outright. Illegal Merchandise Recently on another forum a member tried to sell illegal copies of Phantom comics to fans. These illegal copies were in the form of scans of comic book pages and comic strips. This is not only against the law but it also morally wrong and cheats the artists and writers who created the works out of their well deserved earnings. While we understand that some items can be quite tricky to get hold of, especially in they are rare to begin with or you live internationally, we ask that you first extinguish all legitimate avenues before seeking out “other” methods to acquire your items. If you see a member of the forums is having trouble getting an item and you can help them out feel free to PM them about it. It’s only if cases such as the previously mentioned occur that we will take action. Basically the rule is if you can buy it, do so. If what your are after isn't available commercially then, and only then, may bootlegs be traded here. Posting Links If you are posting a link here on the forums you will be REQUIRED to post along with it as brief description of what the link is about or a quote from the test the link directs to. If you do not do either of these the link will be removed. So, an example.

Would be fine. The reason for this is that it is annoying for posters when they see links with no description of what it is and, really, we could be clicking on ANYTHING. So please follow the above rule and everything will be dandy. Posting Images Users are allowed to post any images that are not of a sexually explicit or offensive manner. However, they must be on-topic for the thread in which the are posted. The maximum width of an image posted on the forums is 800 pixels. Any images large than this must be posted as a thumbnail. A very good site that provides thumbnail posting is ImageShack. Once an image is up-loaded to ImageShack you are provided with the code for posting a thumbnail on a forum which, when clicked, will take users to the full-sized image. Example:  If folks could do this from now on that would be great. If an image is up-loaded not following this rule a PM will be sent to the poster. If they do not change the image then I will remove the large image and re-upload it as a thumbnail. ****** That wraps up the rules. Please enjoy your time on the forums.
