Pretty much a place where members can talk about the recent DVD's they've watched
I've recently watched a number of DVD's. Last night watched the movie "Blades of Glory". Love about 99.99% of Will Ferrel movies I watch and I thought this movie was great as well. Also watched the movies "Shaun of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz". Both were completely random and had no point... yet I thought there were hilarious. Finally, just finished up the second Season of the new Doctor Who series. What an awesome season! Thought David Tennant did an absolutely bloody brillian job of playing the Doctor. And geez, what a way to finish the season. Really sad to see Rose go, hope she comes back in some later season Really looking forward to getting my hands on the 3rd Season now

Just got the 'Olden Days/Bargearse' DVD- quite good, with plenty of easter eggs, a great commentary that brings home how hard it was to make, and other assorted stuff that made it great. |

If you liked season 2 (which personally I think has been the weakest season thus far) you are gonna LOVE season three. It is completelly mind blowing!
Oh, those movies are brilliant! I've just finished watching the Complete Black Books. BRILLIANT British humour, the American's really need to take a lesson from these guys in what makes a show funny. |

Watched V For Vendetta again last night. A brilliant film and a very good adaptation of the graphic novel. I really don't know what Allan Moore's problem is. |

I recently finished watching the mini-series North and South again, except for the change of actors who played Orrie Main's Nephew (or cousin) in the third series, it would have to be one of the finest historical fiction series, that I have watched, along side of Zulu and Centenial.

You could tell it was definately made in the 1980's but other then that i thought it was pretty good. A few of the episodes seemed a little boring but i really got into the ones that arced over four or five episodes. The five episodes where Ming's son rules where probably my favourites but i also didn't mind the one where Jedda had to take over the role of the Phantom (mainly becuase i am a Phantom fan and i liked the idea of seeing see her faced with the decision of whether she could do the job or not). What did you think of it? |

I don't mind the series, but there were better ones made in the 80s. As you say some of the episodes are interesting and I agree with you on the episodes featuring Ming's son. I have the complete series box set but am yet to watch every episode. I've probably watched about half though. |

I think if they had kept the story lines running it may have worked better. Not neccesarily for the length of the show but kept track of what had already happend and what effects this had already had. They started doing this near the end. I had to laugh though, did you ever notice that they were our last line of defence against Ming and others with all this great technology available to use but there ships always seem to break down at the worst time. |

Lol. Yes, I did notice that. Did you notice also that for a few episodes the animation style changes and is much better? I can't remember exactly what episodes they are but Im going to try and find them one of these days. |

Yeah. I saw that. At one stage i was trying to work out whether i had skipped some episodes because it changed back and forth. Jedda's hair colour kept changing. It threw me for a while and then i just laid it down to the fact that it was made in the 80's. I think there was an even an episode where Ming wasn't green (or not as green anyway). |
