Hi, just recently inherited a collection of phantom comics.
Does anyone know where I can get them valued as I now have a very nice folder with a set of 1 to 50 in very good condition including some double ups of under 10.

I have checked out some sites that show how to pick replica's from originals and these to me look all originals.
Thanks The_Noob

If they are original Frew Phantom's they may be worth $50,000 + if they are in the condition you describe. Any comic shop will price them for you, but check out Johnson's Phantom price guide from last year for a rough idea of the price of each isssue. :)

Thanks for that, I will try to find some of the shops in the Hunter area to get a feel, Its a collection of 1542 comics all phantom all in folders of 20. from the ones I mentioned up to 1000 with only 4 or 5 missing but I havent had a chance to see if the rest are in another box with the "special" ones with like 5-8 comics in one book as well as a folder with Phantom cards that apparently came out of the comics and I havent a clue what they are for

I'd go straight to an auction house in Sydney or Melbourne.

A near complete set of Frews is a very rare thing indeed and needs to be marketed properly to enable you to get the best return.

Comic dealers/shops will offer you what may seem a lot but in reality is only a pittance.

The grading of the comic will have a significant impact on their worth and may mean the difference in value of between $1000 and $10 for the earlier issues.

After comparing your scans to the info on http://www.deepwoods.org/replicas.html I think what you have are replicas (at least the two you have posted here). You can do the more detailed research like measuring the logo yourself, but the two things I noticed for #1 are:

"the colour of the Phantom's costume; it is very light purple in the original and a dark purple in the replica"

And on the inside cover, "the original had a line of text at the bottom of the page which says "Printed by ROTARY COLORPRINT CO. PTY. LTD., 15 Hamilton St., Sydney, for the publishers, FREW PUBLICATIONS, 39 Martin Place, Sydney". This line is not present on the replica edition and is the best evidence of authenticity"

From the bright color it looks like your #2 is also a replica, but you may have to do some measuring there to be sure.

Yeah, that's what's in the pic from #2 ("in the tiger's lair").

But the line about "ROTARY COLORPRINT" only applies to #1 ("Enter the Phantom"). And your scan from "Enter the Phantom" does not have that line printed on the inside cover.

For #2 you may have to measure the size of the logo and stuff like that to make sure, since the obvious things like "ROTARY COLORPRINT" is the same on the original and the replica.
