It's a sad fact that one of the least visited sections of both the CC forums and web site are the Egmont pages. I don't know why this is as there seem to be alot of fans from over the pond who come to both the forums and the site.

Anyway, with these sections kind of taking up space and also being a bit to look after I'm wondering if it's not worth simply removing them. Of course I won't do with if you guys don't want it to happen so please vote in the above poll and, if you wish, post your comments here.

Cheers.

I Really like reading about the Egmont comics on the site as it is my main source of information for English title names which occasionally make it to the phantom wiki unless i am beaten two it by other members (which is almost all the time :) )

I hope you decide to keep the site section at least although i wish the cover images would be a bit larger as i enjoy looking at the Egmont covers which beat both Moonstone and Frew's Covers hands down.

however i don't wish to buy a magazine in a language i don't understand just for the cover art.

So this Website is my only source for recent issues

I am voting keep it, for the same reasons I argued when we were discussing the Brazilian series (which has since been cancelled) a while back. To become the prominent Phantom Website I think you need to have all the information about the current productions so as to appeal to the worldwide audience. I know I still read about the issues whenever they are posted on the site even though I will never purchase one.

If your having trouble with it maybe one of our northern neighbour friends maybe able to help or take over that part of the website.

I would say get rid of it from the forum as most of the discussion from it can be in tom-toms, other publishers and Frew if they have published the stories.

I would suggest that you consider condensing the mandrake section DJ.

Yeah, I'm a little confused as to you condensing your nick, I keep thinking about calling you Gloria a la Scrubs.

Very true, this is the very reason I wish the Egmont section is retained. Although the Phantom wiki also gets updated regularly on Egmont comics and I am sure not many of the English speaking fans would be interested in it, still it would be good if CC keeps updating on all Phantom comics.

You mean Dorothy from Scrubs :P .

And DJ was that girl from Full House right :D

Ok I will stop now.. I think there is a game something similar to this.. wrong word connections :) .

Hi all,

unfortunately I've been slacking off on the Egmont updates recently. This is because I've been very busy both at work and personally. But it's all good news though - I just returned home after a one week vacation in Turkey :D

Anyway, I am going to catch up (hopefully) before the weekend with all issues and covers.

Re. to keep the section or not, I would very much like to keep it even if I haven't been able to update it as frequently as I would have wanted. My goal has been to provide Phantom collectors from all over the world with an insight into what is being published in Europe now and help them get issues they want (and thereby boost Phantom sales over here a bit). And I would say it has been quite successfull, I am currently assisting an Australian collector who now subscribes to every issue, and I have helped 3 to 5 collectors from all over the world who have been interested in various specific issues.

I guess I could also accept that the three sections are merged into one again, or alternatively that I updated the issues only on PhantomWiki but that we post news (and links) about it here on CC.

I don't think it's really necessary to keep the Egmont forum part though... the new stories appear in Frew anyway and are being discussed there.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Well, I'll be keeping the Egmont part of the site after reading your comments but I might condense the forum section.

In regards to the three various section (Sweden, Finland, Norway) would you guys rather see the sections remain separate or merge into one? I guess Andreas would have the most input in this as he is the one that up-dates it.

In that case I suggest we keep it as it is for the rest of the year, but merge it into one for 2009.

I will think about how to present it best though, as I prefer to keep the three language editions as separate as possible, even if contents and covers most often are the same. It was my idea to split it up in the first place, but if people just read for example the Swedish section it kind of defeats it's purpose since you don't spot the differences or the issues that are only released in one of the countries.

Like is said before I only read the Swedish ones but this is to View the covers and the names of the stories which may or may not appear in a future Frew issues.

However after jiving the matter some thought i see that people from the different countries may want to read info about the certain comic they buy not another countries.

I am in favor of Andreas proposal of keeping it as it is for the rest of the year which will give people who use the section a chance to have their say

I second this notion to keep it for this year and perhaps merge it in 2009.
