I think this may have been brought up before, so apologies if I am repeating something already covered.

Does Egmont offer international subscriptions similar to what Frew do??

I am contemplating jumping on board with Egmont from the beginning of next year and was just working out whether there was an easy way to do it.

No, but I am interested in collecting the actual books, the main reason to get the stories in color and un-edited by Frew.

Also their are enough translating websites around now, that I am sure I can translate and read the issues if there is a hold up with Frew publishing them (and heck, I might just teach myself a little of the language, what better way to learn then by reading the Phantom :D ).

I could put up the question as a thread at fantomen.com, hopefully they could give a quick answer.

In the meantime you can buy this issues through CC. Check the bottom of THIS entry.

Thanks JD. I knew I could buy them through CC but as I am hoping to make regular purchases I think a subscription may be easier.

If this is not possible though, I will definitely look at going through CC.

Here is the answer I got:

And here is my translation of it:

Yes it goes. You could order a subscription to almost every countries at:
http://kundtjanst.egmont.se

Unfortunately does it require help from a Swede because the form only exists in Swedish.
(tested google translate with poor resultat)

A subscription to Australia costs 845,40 inclusively shipping costs.
Hopefully, I made an accurate translation and I hope that I am correct that you are an Australian, Geaghs.

I perhaps need to note that portotillägg has been translated as shipping costs, though they might not have the exactly same meaning. Porto in Swedish is postage stamp in a formal sense, or the cost that it takes to deliver whatever that is to be sent (I do not know if the word exists in English). Portotillägg refers to the extra cost of the porto, i.e. the shipping.

Anyway, if a another of the Swedes that are hanging here take a look at the text, he could probably soon note if there are some wrong translations.

EDIT: I realized that I should translate Prenumeration as subscription and not leave it untranslated, but now you know the Swedish word. I will soon add a translation of the page.

This is how you do:
After you have picked Fantomen, click at "Gå vidare" ("move on"). Then click at the Swedish flag or the world, it does not seem to matter what, and you will be at the form.
This is what the form says (with my translations):
Quote:

Markera ett alternativ/Mark an option:

Helår/Full year 629.00 kr.
Halvår/Half year 350.00 kr.
Helår + krönika/Full year + chronicle 799.00 kr.

When everything is correctly filled in you push "Beställ" ("Order").

Good luck!

I have had a quick look and if anybody else in Oz is interested, the prices for Australia are a little more expensive than what originally appears on the form. Once you select Australia as your country the form resets with new prices.

The prices are as follows;

Helår 845.40 kr. Inkluderar: Portotillägg 252.00 kr. (Full Year 845.40 kr. Includes: Postage Supplement 252.00kr)
Halvår 462.19 kr. Inkluderar: Portotillägg 132.00 kr. (Biannual 462.19 kr. Includes: Postage Supplement 132.00kr)
Helår + krönika 1 005.77 kr. Inkluderar: Portotillägg 252.00 kr. (Full Year + Chronicle 1005.77 kr. Includes: Postage Supplement 252.00kr)

I think my translations are right. Anybody from Sweden, please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Using the Commonwealth Bank conversion tool this equates to approximately $150.00 AUD for the Full Year subscription.

Looking at the Phantom Wiki, there are about 26 copies a year, so that works out approximately $5.80 per comic (if all my translations & math’s are right).

Very tempting.

There was 26 copies a year, now it is kind of as they have started with double issues, at the moment there are five double issues a year, they contain, as the name reveal, the double amont of pages as the ordinary issues, so currently it is 21 copies a year to be exact, but five of them are double size.

EDIT: With this post I apparently became an Evil Doer.

Maybe it´s worth to mention that the Chronicles has 6 copies a year (each issue contains at least 100 pages).

So you can add 6 extra copies a year if you choose to add the subscription with the Phantom Chronicles-magazine.
