Moonstone have released the solicit for The Phantom: Ghost Who Walks #6. THE PHANTOM: GHOST WHO WALKS #6 Story: Mike Bullock Art: Silvestri Syzilagyi Edits: David Michelinie Colors: Bob Pedroza Cover A: Joe Corroney Cover B: Silvestri Syzilagyi & Stephen Downer 32pgs, color, $3.99 “Return of The Eastern Dark” Pt II (of II) Can the Phantom uncover the mystery of The Eastern Dark in time to save Jaime from a horrific death, or will he be too late? One thing is for sure, either way our hero is in for some PAIN! (The Joe Corroney cover fits together with the previous issue’s cover to form one picture!) Bonus: The serialized Phantom prose back-ups continue this issue. “If you’re tired of "angsty" heroes who do little other than mope about their lives, if you’re tired of endless crossovers and "events" that change nothing, if you’re tired of stories that are more concerned with making a statement than anything else then this is the antidote”- Broken Frontier The original post can be found here. |

I got this a few days ago and i have to say i loved it. it was just as good as the first part with a great story from mike and excellent artwork by Syzilagyi. Also i managed to get the last copy of cover B which was the one i was looking for so i was most pleased. looking forward to more great stories like this in the future.

I agree, this was a great issue. The whole theme of the followers of Zaal really dealing with illegal organ transplants was brilliant. I never saw that coming. When I saw that it was an out-loud "oh, wow" moment. I also think this issues shows an improvement in Silvestre's story telling ability, particularly the fight scenes. One thing that kind of gave me pause was the Phantom's comment "I'm going to stick around an put the fear of the real god into these zealots." This stood out to me for several reasons. 1. Who is the Phantom referring to? The most common response would be the Christian God, but is that really so? 2. What religion is the Phantom? Does he even follow one and was that a kind of generic comment? 3. Or is this just Mike putting in his religion views subconsciously? 4. Do I read too much into these things? Just something that caught my eye. |

I would imagine the 21st Phantom to be an agnostic or possibly atheist, but he must be a man open to the possibility of a God, given how many strange things he have seen in his life (in Mystery of the Golden Rune, the gates to what appeared to be hell were even opened in Bengalla!). We have seen historical Phantoms refer to themselves as Christians, though, and Egmont's "Ring of Death" stories, where it is revealed that the Skull Ring is made from the nails that held Christ to the cross, could be seen as turning the Phantom into a "knight of Jesus", for lack of better descriptions. It was cool to see Mike refer to this element of the ring's history in Ghost Who Walks #0. I don't think it's ever been revealed if there is a state religion in Bengalla, but that could make for an interesting story. |

Well considering The Phantom has to fight against people posing as goods or committing criminal acts in a gods name most recently Zaal I wouldn't be surprised if the Phantom wasn't particularly religious But this is not something that i want to be explored in the comics |

This is what I would hope. I really resent a fictional character "telling" me which religion I should subscribe to.
Me either, really, but it does make for interestign discussion. |

I Agree it could make for interesting discussion on the forums but as with all things different people have different views about religion so i am glade that the topic has been limited in the comics to mad cults and the odd Egmont story Changing the topic slightly (sorry Guys) something i would like to see more of in future moonstone stories is the phantom battling against more of old Falk created enemies in particular the vultures since apart from four or five Egmont stories they have only made one other appearance in the newspaper strips. Which is a shame because i think they are the perfect villainous group for the phantom since they prey on the weak and wounded (to begin with on the battlefield), the ones the phantom has sworn to protect. |

It's probably for the best that the Phantom doesn't have an official religion, since we know that people with different religious views read about him in all parts of the globe. However, wouldn't it be interesting to see a story with, say, a historical Phantom struggling with his faith and regaining it? I think there is great potential in this kind of tale. |

He will most likely come from a Catholic background seeing the reformation (Protestants) was not very popular then but like you say to appeal to every country, he is probably best to remain neutral or not to flog his views onto people or let it cloud his judgements... |

Germ is probably right, as the Phantom comes from an English heritage. But I also agree with Paul, I think he should remain neutral. His story idea is good though. |

I think you can be religious in the sense to have some beliefs but also not to be pushy that he pushes his views onto the natives like some missionary's have done in the past (note not all of them). I myself am religious (in the sense I go to church and have strong Christian beliefs in the way I live my life) but their is a time to share your beliefs and for some people the best way to demonstrate your religion is by example and not pushing your beliefs.... Interesting that Falk was Jewish (right??) so maybe him having a Catholic background is a little off.. |

I don't think Falk was a religious man (at least not in his adult life), despite of his heritage. |
