This one seemed to go along at the same level with no crescendo - boring!

I enjoyed it, not the best story and it didn't seem to have a proper ending leaving room for a possible sequel but the art was good story was decent and cover art was shocking as usual.

I'm the exact opposite from you two as I loved it! I found it to be a great thriller and action story. The script was tight and cleaver with some great lines ("Here's my business card" and "Would you like a shower? I'll scrub your backs for you.") and Lindahl's art was absolutely beautiful.

For me this is the issue of the year so far, can't wait for part two! :D

I almost liked it. I found it a little hard to believe that a bunch of movie agents could be so criminal as they were in this story--let alone own and operate a fleet of monster trucks. This story also lost marks for the shoot out near the end. Why would a crime boss shoot a man dead, publicly and in front of a whole bunch of witnesses? This story had a great introduction though, I really liked the first page. So on that basis I give it 1 out of 36.

The plan was that the shoot out would look like an act and if something went wrong they could blame it on faulty props. Like Brandon Lee...kinda.

Yeah I suppose, I still think it was silly. Do you think Brandon Lee was murdered? His father?

I really liked the Crow also a huge fan of Bruce Lee and his movies.

I'm not sure about the murdering, but it is all a bit iffy. I love the original film too (have your read the comic? It's a masterpiece!) and Bruce's films as well.

I agree with Benno. It amused me, no doubt about that. But I found it a little hard to believe that a bunch Hollywood agents would be such evil masterminds. And I thought the shoot out at the end was odd because the head of the company was going to kill The Phantom in front of everyone. Why would he want to do it? Wouldn't he get some henchman to do his dirty work for him? And the ending was kind of abrupt without any talk of a sequal. However the artwork was great and I love it when The Phantom gets out of the jungle. I also disliked the cover however. I found it a bit tacky much like the cover for Pirates Ahead Part Two.

Well I hope so. Does it happen often that a follow up story will come out ages after the initial story? All sequels I have come across so far are just 2 part issues.

Yes it does happen often. Sometimes we have to wait months for a sequel.

I don't think it happens as much as it used to though.

Still waiting on part three of the gladiator series. And it took a while for the recent Kate Somerset sequel to come out. And I can't remember the last time we had any stories about the current Singh corporation/presidency issue. But who's keeping track :red:

Fair point on the Gladiator story, but if I recall correctly Jim did state that he wanted to bring it all out at once but couldn't due to it not being ready yet.

With Kate Somerset & Sandal Singh, I see these stories more of a saga then a multi part story. That may sound silly, but my idea of a two-parter (or more) is that you need to read the previous stories to know what's going on but in a saga the stories can be stand alone but they are linked to others by similar characters, settings, etc. (the Lubanga Saga is an example of this).
