Anyone who has read a few different people's reviews know that there are usually 5 different sections (Gameplay, Graphics, Sound/Music, Story, and Lasting Value [sometimes controls too, but I'm not counting that here])

So when you play a game, in what order of importance to you usually find all of this stuff? And why?

For me:

Gameplay > Lasting Value > Story > Sound/Music > Graphics

Of course as a true gamer should, I beleive gameplay is most important (it is a game after all). However, I don't beleive graphics are key (as long as you can make out what everything is, it's good enough to me, not that I wouldn't prefer more stylized and/or high-tech graphics). Sound/Music and Story are actually quite important to me, but they aren't necessary of course. Lasting Value is.

Gameplay > Story > Lasting Value > Music/Sound > Graphics

Gameplay > Story > Lasting Value > Sound/Music > Graphics

This reminds me of that one time I was playing LOZ: OoS and this 4th grader comes up to me and starts watching me play and he's all "Those are the wrost graphics I've ever seen" and I'm all "So what? it's a good game. Graphics don't matter as long as the game is good." And he's like "Yeah they do."

That kid was kinda annoying, but damn, could he play the violin. :|

Lasting Value > Gameplay > Sound/Audio > Story > Graphics.

That was hard, if I could, I would tie 2 or 3.

Oooooh YoshiMaster cussin...j/k.

But anyway, Music does play a huge part in a game for me. I'm a musical person, and if a game doesn't have good music, then it hampers my gameplay experience.

I agree, sound can make or brake a game. I wonder where Zelda would be without it's theme or ocarina?
Although I don't get why you put story at the second spot. Only a few stories (Phoenix Wright, Final Fantasy) are good enough to make a game better, although then it makes the game worth buying even if the gameplay sucks.

Well, Gameplay and story are one in the same for me. If a game's story is really bad, then it makes the game bad itself. But story only implies to games that focus on story and gameplay. I mean, you wouldn't care about story on a Mario Party game or a puzzle game and stuff like that.
