Welcome to TNZ!

There are many great reasons to join The Nintendo Zone. We'll list just a few below:

-Very friendly staff and members
-Excellent discussion of Nintendo and more
-We're the forum that created Smash Camp
-Special events during holidays such as Halloween and New Year's, as well as for major game releases
-A weekly Wi-Fi Game Night, where you can practice Wi-Fi games with other members
-Editing ability, right from the start
-An IRC chat with Trivia nights
-Many ways to advertise your sites, such as affiliates, an advertising board, banner ads, and ads on our newsletter

Of course, there's many more reasons than that, so why not register? You can also log in below if you've already registered before:

I'll just take a break from TNZ...for 6 months...
Please do not steal this intro for use on your forum. doing so is a violation of InvisionFree's Terms of Service and your forum will be deleted.

If you're reading this, chances are you've just joined The Nintendo Zone Forums (TNZ for short). TNZ is a really active forum about one of the greatest gaming companies of all time: Nintendo. Here, you can discuss Nintendo-related topics about Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, etc., not to mention sports, graphics, the internet, and many other off-topic subjects. In the next several paragraphs, I will do my best to show you what TNZ is all about. ;)

1. Posting Basics
On a forum such as this, the way you talk with other members is by "posting" messages. In order to post a discussion topic, simply go onto the board you think is most relevant to the topic, and press the "New Topic" Button that appears above the topics list. This button varies in appearance depending on which forum you go to, but on TNZ, it looks like this:

Then, you write down the title you want to make in the thin "Topic Title" box, and write an optional description that will appear under your title. After that, you can start writing the message in the big box below. (for this topic I have posted, the title is "Welcome New Members!", the description is "An Intro to TNZ", and the message...well, you're reading it now. :P Then press the "Add my topic" button on the bottom of the screen, and viola! Topic posted!

Do you see a topic, and want to write a reply to it? In order to do this, go onto the topic, then press the "Add Reply" button. On TNZ, it looks like this:

Then, simply write down your reply to the topic then press the "Add my reply" button, and you're all set!

What if you want to make a poll to ask our member's opinions on a certain subject? Well, here you can do that! Making a poll is almost the same as starting a new topic. Go onto the forum you want to put the topic on, and find the "New Poll" button, which, on TNZ, will look a little something like this:

You will see the same boxes as for starting a topic, except you will also see the "Poll Options" boxes. On the thin "Poll Question" box, you, as the name suggestions, write down your question. Underneath that, you get to select how many options someone can choose on your poll. Then, in the big box, you write down all your options for answers. Seperate all your options by hitting the enter key in between them, then hit the "Add my Poll" button, and now you've posted a poll for the members of TNZ to vote on. ;)

Sometimes, you might not be sure where to post a topic. Each board on TNZ is meant for a certain subject. Sometimes, you have a few different options for where you can post a topic. For example, if you want to post something about Super Smash Bros. Brawl, you could post it on Smash Mayhem, the Wii Board, or The Nintendo Zone HQ. If you want to post something general about Nintendo, you could post it on the main board of System Lounge, or on The Nintendo Zone HQ. If you want to talk about, say, Metal Gear Solid 4, you should post that on the Other Systems board, since that is a PS3 game. If you've looked around but are still not sure as to where your topic should be posted, Off-Topic, the board for discussion of anything not related to video games, serves as a safeguard for you post on.

One last note on posting: make sure your post does not violate TNZ's Terms of Service in any way. Read the rules before posting any topics.

2. Ranks and Ranking Up

As you continue to post on TNZ, your "post count" will increase. A post count is a number that appears on your profile and under your screen name wherever you post that, as the name suggests, shows the number of posts you have made. You have a "rank" depending on what your post count is. As your post count continues to increase, you will "rank up". For example, when you start off as a member of TNZ, you are at the Weed rank. When you reach 16 posts, you will rank up to the Poison Mushroom rank. The higher your rank is, the more privileges you will gain on TNZ.

There are also special ranks which you can only get by meeting certain requirements. For example, there is the Legendary Member rank. LMs are Elite Members who have proved themselves exceptional and make a positive impact on the community. Currently, you must get 16 Ribbons in order to become one. Ribbons are earned by doing something special such as recruiting new members.

Staff ranks include Moderators and Admins. New staff members are picked by the current staff when we are in need on new members. In order to join the staff, you must first become an LM and then continue to contribute to the community. Once you become staff, you become responsible of coming on the forum frequently, checking the forum to make sure no rules are being broken, and helping TNZ become bigger and better. If for some reason, you find that you can no longer serve as a staff member, you need only to tell the other staff and you will be retired. That's what happened to me, I became way too busy to serve as admin, and retired back to LM.

*still not finished yet, please don't post*

I like Neeti. His posts were hugely entertaining. They've been up for a day so I've gotta take 'em down now, but I still wish more bots were like Neeti.
