Nephenee will love me forever for saying this.

NiGHTS will be MORE EPIC THAN BRAWL.

Proof? The music is beyond epic, gameplay is amazing, the story behind the game and the GAME ITSELF is genius.

I actually get excited for the NiGHTS updates, the Brawl updates, I could care less about them (very few of them really interest me). This game is not overhyped with characters, other modes of play... it's simple and seems like it will be very well presented (Brawl will be too, it's just.... there's TOO MUCH to present).

Hell, NiGHTS should be the defining character of Sega, his games DON'T SUCK (*coughunlikeSonicsnewgamescough*).

You will die now.

I mean, your entitled to your opinion and all, but more epic than Brawl? Come now.

NiGHTS music is good, but epic and better than SSBBs? SSBB's music is more epic than that. They have a fricking dream team of composers for that game. Nobuo Uematsu, Koji Kondo, etc.

I haven't played either game, so I'll hold off on gameplay. Hopefully, you will do the same. ;)

I don't know the story of either game really well, but from what I've gathered, they're both mediocre.

As far as the game itself, I'm guessing that's opinion too.

But epic? The third piece of a trilogy, an online mode, much more story, tons of characters. etc.

vs.

An old franchise revived with...what exactly? Wiimote controls? Forecast channel tie-ins?

I bet you that every major critic will rate SSBB higher than NiGHTS.

NiGHTS better than Brawl? Don't count on it. But I'm definitely looking forward to NiGHTS, and it's sure to be a great game.

...yes, that's all I'm saying on the topic.

That's the Pillow God Toki-chan's revelation.

Oh, I agree.

Maybe it's just that I've been dying for a NiGHTS sequel since I first played the Saturn game, and really was indifferent about another SSB game.

Seriously, my anticipation level for JoD is way higher than that for Brawl.

SSBB is part of a series of games that were EXPECTED to have sequels.

NiGHTS, on the other hand, hasn't seen the light of day since the original game came out on the Saturn.

It deserves it WAY more than Brawl.

Oh yeah, there's online for NiGHTS too, so saying there's online multiplayer for Brawl isn't much of a comeback.

As for more characters, that's complete bullcrap. Seriously, putting in more and more characters and updates into a game and calling it epic, that's like making a 6 foot tall sub sandwich and saying it's going to be the best sandwich ever.

I think Zex just proved my point. How many people played NiGHTS on that failing system? Not many.

As an original IP, it has potential. But let's face it: Sega hasn't made a good game in the 21st century. Not many people are going to be psyched about a company that hasn't made a good game in a long time.

Brawl, obviously, has a ton of rep.

You can like NiGHTS more than SSBB, but to say it's more epic is ludacris.

Epic means: Surpassing the usual or ordinary, particularly in scope or size.

OR

Heroic and impressive in quality.

NiGHTS is not going to be more "epic" than either. It just doesn't have enough cash to be spent on it.

Of course, you'll probably say that NiGHTS will be higher in quality because you'll enjoy it more...

If so, I guess we'll see in time, won't we? :D

I'm going to be honest: I've never played the original, either. I just think Journey of Dreams look like a sweet game.

And also, ever since Super Paper Mario, I've been relatively interested in video game jesters, especially those that are villains... >_>

But I'm not actually contributing much to the debate, now am I?

I agree, SSBM was a good game. But NiGHTS was criminally overlooked. (me not being good at the game,) I think if any game was a master piece it was NiGHTS. The flow of the game is amazing and so were the characters/storyline, etc. People have been waiting for a sequel to this game for 11 years. I think if I had to wait for a game for 11 years it would be NiGHTS and not another SSB.

Epic doesn't mean the more popular of the games. If that was the case Halo would be the most incredible game ever. How can you say SSB will be more epic if you haven't
even played the first game?

That would be NiGHTS as I know it.

I'm not hostile, but you should play the first game through before you say that SSBB is going to be more epic. I've played both NiGHTS into Dreams and SSBM and I think that Journey of Dreams is going to be more epic in the sense that it will answer questions people have been waiting 11 years to answer. There's much more to be anticipated about it mainly because they aren't slapping daily updates.
