So recently my launch day Wii's disc drive has stopped working, now i could send it in for $70 but i never use it anymore, and if i did want to play something my parents got a new Wii so no problem there.

My hope was to hack it so i could run games off of my external hard drive, but the only way to do that with my Wii's current firmware version is to use SSBB... which doesn't run because the disc drive doesn't work. It's a fun little viscous circle.

I didn't know if anyone knows of any other way that this might be possible. If not i might just open it up and see whats going on. I have heard of a few easy fixes (and well what the worst thing i can do make the disc drive not work even more?).

Well I tend to actually play single player games when I have a chance to be alone. So if the Wii is in like the family room then i really dont have much of a chance.

Also ever since I got my xbox 360 my Wii playing has dropped by A LOT. Theres just so much more to do.
