I'm really uncertain as to what I think of the controller-screen right now, considering we still have no confirmation on what exactly it will be...

Online should surely be improved. They've already done away with game-specific friend codes with the 3DS.

Yea i heard about it being playable at E3 too, but i don't think they will release it anytime this year, or early next year too.
They said they want to have a better relationship with the 3rd party game developers out there, and so revealing it at E3 and releasing it later in 2012 will give game developers time to make badass games for it and there can be a decent launch lineup, unlike the 3DS.
Also, i expect since the PS3 and 360 will still be going, new games for those consoles can be easily ported to the Project Cafe, giving me no reason to keep my PS3. And as usual i expect it to be backwards compatible, so i can sell my Wii as well when the time comes and i will have no problem paying off the hefty price of this new Nintendo console.
One thing i seriously hope is that they do away with the damn friend codes. I'm gonna loose it if i have to deal with that anymore.

Whoever came up with the idea of individual friend codes for each game is an idiot and should be beaten in the knees.

Also, Ninty has done neat things with using the GBA as a controller with the gamecube in games like Legend Of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures, and... umm... .... Animal Crossing's connectivity was a neat gimmick!...

Final Fantasy Christal Cronicals was another neat game, although not a Nintendo first party title... it was a neat game that made use of the gameboy advance connectivity stuff.

Point being, this isnt' their first adventure to the external screen to a home console... so I have some faith in them that they'll come up with neat uses for it.

Of course they will. Ninty always does great with their own gimmicks. The problem is, what will become of third parties? Who will be the new Ubisoft...?

That's the thing about Ubisoft... is I don't know if I can/should trust them or not... because of the amount of garbage they publish too haha. I'm sure they'll push a ton of quality stuff though, hell the best 3DS game out right now is a Ubisoft game. (Ghost Recon Shadow Wars)

We'll see how it all pans out. E3 GET HERE NAOW!!!1!

First of all don't jump ship on your PS3 (I prefer Xbox but the point is still valid), even though third party games such as CoD come out cross platform there is a huge difference between the game released for Nintendo and the game released for the other two. Mainly the online community, and basic game play/ features are usually far less in the Nintendo version (lately).

Second, the friend code system is likely here to stay. But I do like the single friend code system, it would be nice however to streamline it to the point where everyone (not every console) has a friend code (or a series of letters/numbers that represents them in either a random or reasoned way).

@Llama: I understand completely, buying a Ubisoft game is like Russian Roulette. Lost Magic for DS is a great game.

No, i was going to sell my PS3 before i ever herd about the Project Cafe anyway.
And i have read on many occasions Nintendo plans to fix their shitty relationships with third party developers, and i think with a more powerful console like this, the time is perfect.
Regardless, I would rather a less powerful console if it means no damn friend codes.
Either way, I'm done with my PS3 simply because the games hardly interest me anymore and i never play it so why keep it.

This might just be the weirdest thing i have ever heard. someone ditching a Sony/Microsoft console to go to nintendo... well I actually wouldn't mind seeing this happen more, its still like seeing a Sasquatch, or a unicorn at this point
