Temple of Kraden Board Awards
This reporter would like to preface the announcement of the board award results with a sincere apology for her acute laziness. She’d go into more depth to beg for your forgiveness, but she’s too lazy for that. She knows that Enro, at least, will understand. Additionally, the Temple Weekly News would like to thank Kiki, who provides the spectacular art that you see in every issue, for the illustrations.

Enro came home late one night after going to the bar after work. His wife wasn't there, neither were his children. All their possesions were gone. Confused, he saw a note from his wife on the table. "tl;dr" he said, then cracked open another can of beer and watched some TV.

Werebarret Takes His Leave
As many of you are well aware, Werebarret recently announced a lengthy
grounding, one that he said would be measured in months and years, possibly, as
opposed to weeks.
However, he still sneaks on when he can... I've seen him on msn and around the Temple a few times, but those occaisions will be extremely rare, I'm betting. As to why he left... that isn't my place to talk about. But after talking to Were a bit, I guess I understand the situation a bit more, and I know more than ever that sometime, he will be back.
Of all the guys at the Temple, Werebarret's the one I guess you could say I was tightest with. And from what I know of him, he will be back. And as he told us and told me, he's doing okay and fighting the good fight - he's not the type to give up anytime soon, and if he does, I'll punch him in the face. >_>
But, to clarify something some people thought - it was nothing to do with Demon or Phoenix or anyone there that Were left. He said I could tell ya'll, but I still don't think it's my place. It's a very personal matter, after all.
Temple of Kraden Board Awards Under New Management
The Board Awards, a biannual award ceremony that has been running since early 2007, has gone under new management. Formerly run by Werebarret (with help from Draco in the second installment), the Board Awards are now being run by Hinoa.
Hinoa already has a few changes in mind. "Last time we had the board awards, we had far too many categories, and quite a few of them were redundant," he said. "I'm probably going to remove quite a few of the categories, while at the same time, keeping the spirit of the Board Awards alive."
The Board Awards are slated to begin on January 20 with the nomination phase. Start thinking of who you want to nominate now!
Temple Christmas Contest Results II
The runner-up entries for the Temple Christmas contest were submitted by Enro and Draco. We thank them for their efforts and for contributing to the contest.

Inactivity in the Temple
Some have questioned this supposed inactivity we're going through... and indeed, it may just be another phase. But, frequently lately, I've seen fifteen members online and -no one- posting. And checking the post logs, last week we only registered 1500 posts - we haven't seen that level of inactivity since December of 2006. By contrary, we had our highest weekly posts ever in October of 2007... things seem to have gone down fairly damn fast - it's been in steady decline since then.
It's been for no shortage of topics, I suppose, but just not as many posts in them. Maybe we need a loosening of spam laws, somewhat, I dunno. It's good to see serious discussion still breaking out sometimes, though, like the Tolkien discussion and the rather excellent/awesome debate in the History and Politics forum.
But at the same time, every RP is lagging now, and that's not good - the whole time period of the Temple, we've always had the RPs to keep us going. I plan on posting in AoA soon to get that going again... and the Snack Bar, for once, isn't seeing two or three new pages each day. Things are looking down in some places... so despite all the new stuff we put in, or maybe because of it, posting is down.
Two New Affiliates!
Since the new year started, the Temple of Kraden has welcomed two new affiliates. They are the Blue Diamond Clan and Deus Ex Machina forums. So far, both partnerships seem to be working out.
The Blue Diamond Clan has been affiliated with the Temple before. Relations started to break down in the summer of 2007 when Draco and Ryu, who were admins at both sites, left the Blue Diamond Clan in a flood of drama. Shortly after, BDC took down the link button for the Temple, and the Temple responded in kind, ending the affiliation. However, some people continued to be members of both sites, and after much talk and a false start, BDC and the Temple decided to reaffiliate.
Deus Ex Machina forums is a new affiliate. Draco initiated the talks when the community of DEM, then called Magic Sword Forum, moved to its new home. After a short time, DEM head admin Dr. Booshio, agreed to the affiliation. The Kradenettes also liked the idea, so the two sites exchanged banners.
When asked to tell us more about Deus Ex Machina forums, Dracobolt said, “Despite being a new board, the community at DEM has been around for quite a long time. See, they originally started out as the Anti-Shurtugal Forum. Anti-Shurtugal, you know, the anti-Eragon website. I joined when they were still called that, not too too long after the board was established. But, anyway, after some time, the administrators there felt the atmosphere of the board wasn’t what they wanted to have affiliated with their site, so they cut ties and appointed some new staff and started a new, more structured forum for Anti-Shurtugal. The first forums were then changed to Uru’Baen. Then, over Christmas, there was a kerfuffle about the split, and the Uru’Baen board got hax0red and shut down. A new board, called Magic Sword, was created, and most of the Uru’Baen community flocked there. They set things up and picked up from where they’d left off. Once they decided on a permanent site name, we finalized the affiliation. They’re really a bunch of great people, to be sure, and I’m glad we’re affiliated with them.”
Temple of Kraden Choose Your Own Adventure
Last week, on I'm-running-out-of-these-things...
Saturos wiped a tear from his eye. "Well, I'll be darned. C'mon, Draco, you've show'd us the err of our ways. No longer shall we be scrooges, but embrace the festive spirit! C'mon, Draco, we're getting you smashed! Rum and egg nog for everyone!" The Kradenettes gave a roaring cheer and produced quarts of egg nog, mixing it with warm gold rum. Werebarret and the other Mars adepts heated the drinks to the perfect temperature, and as drink after drink went around, the Kradenettes got more and more wild as the party progressed. Tables were overturned, more people showed up, and soon it was a rowdy party of Kradenettes indeed. But, just how rowdy?
a) It was rowdy when Draco and Kyarorain are caught sneaking off to the closet, along
with Lachesis and Shadow.
b) It was rowdy when Ian "accidentally" ate several unnamed Kradenettes and left huge blood smears on the walls - much to the shock or amusement of the others, depending who you ask.
c) It was rowdy when Werebarret and Dark Wizard got into a chugging contest for the honour of their Tribes, and a Brawl broke out afterward.
d) It was rowdy when someone set up a New Year's ball, set to burst when the clock struck twelve... but what is it filled with?
You, Kradenettes, voted... A.
"Shh," Kyarorain warned them, and held her finger up to her lips and giggled. "Be quiet. Thissa may be our last gender to find out what chance Lach is."
"It's been too long since I've had a good orgy!" Draco declared enthusiastically.
The slowly pulled the door openly, wincing at the creak. Meanwhile, Draco and Ky held Lach and Shadow to their side, respectively, one hand over their mouth to prevent them from screaming.
They slipping into the closet, and quietly shut the door behind them, enveloping them in total darkness.
"Now then, let's get down to business," Draco said, rubbing her hands together.
"Hey, this closet is occupied, get your own! Though, hey Eval, is that banana pudding I smell?"
"I think it is, Spella," Eval responded with a grin, and as Spella curled a fireball in their hand for light, as Eval raised twin banana pudding pies.
"It ain't an orgy without it," she said with a wink, and she and Spella picked them up, and began throwing.
Things got very, very, dirty very, very, quickly.
By now, however, the shaking and howling from the closet had attracted the attention of the drunken Kradenettes, and they stood outside the closet, scratching their heads as they decided what to do. Eventually, they found a camera, and prepared to break in and obtain some incriminating blackmail. They opened the door to...
a) Be bowled over as six people clad only in banana pudding burst out.
b) They managed to get decent in time... but Shadow and Spella, Lach and Draco, and Kyarorain and Eval had somehow switched clothes. Aaaawkward.
c) They find a tea party calmly in progress in the closet. Who needs booze, apparently?
d) The closet apparently, had morphed into a wormhole to another dimension, sucking all the Kradenettes in... to another world~
