She is about average height and about average looks -- people interacting with her are more likely to remember her personality than her face. She often wears casual clothes -- jeans and a jacket -- and almost always wears shoes she can run in comfortably. Like most of Torchwood 3, she's in good physical condition. Personality: Gwen is highly gregarious, liking to spend time with her mates and honestly needing to connect with others. She cares about people and tends to think the best of them for as long as possible. She is curious, can't resist a secret, and is utterly dogged about pursuing answers. She's a bit pig-headed; she'll table a discussion, but she never really lets anything drop. She has a quirky sense of humor and an occasionally nasty temper, especially when she thinks she's protecting someone else. Specialties: Good interpersonal skills; police procedures and contacts; budding leadership skills Problems: She trusts too much and too easily, gets over-involved in other people's problems. In short, she has poor emotional boundaries. She is also concerned about the kinds of secrets she's keeping from Rhys and her family -- and how good she is at lying. Some Skills: I'm not sure what to put here. She's a good investigator, a decent leader, and pretty good at tactical planning. She has basic skills in firearms and slightly better skills in other forms of self-defense. She likes amateur photography. Anything else? History: Gwen was born and raised in the Cardiff area. Her family and many of her schoolmates still live nearby. She's accustomed to a busy social life, but she has too little time right now -- and hates the way she has to lie to everyone. She's learned to gloss over the changes in her life as part of her new job, without talking much about what that job is. As a child, Gwen had dozens of dream professions -- ballerina, nurse, teacher. Her family was very surprised when she settled on becoming a constable, and they tried to talk her out of it. That only made her more stubborn, of course. She enjoyed her job as a PC at first, but she never really felt she was making as much of a difference as she wanted. Working at Torchwood 3 has shaken her preconceptions of the world and of herself. She's surprised by how much she's taken to the job, and is determined to make it work out on her own terms. Gwen hates to back down, and now that she's had a shot at leading this group for a few months, she's looking forward to shaking up Jack's complacency about how things are done.
