okay, i have a simple Md2 model , and i model it and it works and such and i animate like.... run jump, swim, blah blah blah, you know? and the file is about 700kb okay.. then im using the same one, except i have all those animations + 6 differnt attacks and like.. a flippin off animation hahahmm now the md2 file is 2.2mb which isnt that bad.. but still Large.. but when i run it in Ultimate 3d.. EVERYTHING is F-d up... like.......i can see through buildings, and like textures dont load for my particals.. and such.. yah its just a large md2 what the heck is going on!?! lol Thankyou

Do you have all those animations embeded in one single model file?!
That ain't very recommended in my opinion. You should have each animation in a separate model files to reduce file size and to keep things organized.

iT would be alot more sloppy//messy having seperate animation files.. EWW, and.. as well i need my weapon to have all those same animations so it is straped the to model

No, on the oposite: it would be sloppy and messy to have all animations in one single file. Professional game developers always tend to have each animation in its own model file to keep things organized. And for keeping the weapon attached to the player, that can be done without including the weapon model in the player animation model, in code. |

hmm soooooooo with coding how could i... honesty i cannot think of a way.. and in half life and other games.. they do have all the animations in 1 Model file.. and the weapons have all the same anims.. yah.. sucks but yah.. eww lol i like that..but if there was code... DEFINATLY>... i would use lol ... would save some space

Well, seemingly you have discovered a bug in U3D 1.31. The model loader of this version is a bit buggy in general. That's why I completely rewrote it for U3D 2.0. The only possibility to solve this problem without waiting for U3D 2.0 is eluding the bug. Try to reduce the number of frames in the *.md2 file somehow either by using a less detailed animation (with less frames per second) or by using the method Despellanion suggested. |
