Room changing

I think I am doing something wrong. How can I change from one room to another, but not keeping everything from the room I was just in?

Like, if I go from Room 1 to room 2 the terrain and models stay in view. How can this be fixed?

Many thanks,
Cameron

depends on which kind of rooms you're talking about... U3D's built in rooms or GM's built in rooms.

certain objects are persistent, which means they stay in the game even if rooms are changed. you can change this state in the object properties dialogue.

Well, I know about object persistences. But that is not the problem.

The terrain and models from the GM room I was just in is showing up with the new room's terrain and models.

You have to destroy all objects first
Code:

with(all){
  if(!persistent && u3d_type!=0){
      Destroy();
  }
}
THEN you can go to your new room. I think we should have a pinned room switching topic or something, this keep coming up.
