I've made some good games with GM and know it's 3D, so i want to move on to U3D, but i dont really know how to do much. My goal is to make a free-roaming stealth-action game, but that can wait. My problem is: How the heck do i animate models and such? in anim8or, i made my skeleton and the object for the skeleton, but how do i add walking animation? All I've really figured out is how to load models, and I've loaded my mech models in place of the creature from the collision example. Also, it is floating, and no matter how much i change the z values, it wont go down. Sorry if this is a bit vague. I would really like something to learn from, as i dont know how to open the md2 files without milkshape, and would like to work in an8. |

To learn how to animate models in Anim8or you should read this Anim8or tutorial. If your *.an8 file contains a figure or a figure with a sequence it will be loaded automatically. To play this animation all you need to do is setting the variable frame to -1. To change the height of a character model above the ground in the collision example you've got to change the variable hip_height. z gets computed in dependence on the value of this variable and the height of the ground below the character, so if you just change it, you change gets overwritten in the next step, that's why you need to use hip_height. |

Thanks doctor best! I knew how to animate models in An8, but i would rather animate it in-game using some simple algorithms. But thanks anyway! |
