eh...sounds like too much work, and I doubt it perfectly converts the model, how do you convert a DirectX. 8.0 file to ASCII table file?

If it sounds like too much work, stop programming and go watch tv.

The format of the table is like this:

4
1.0 5.1 8.5
1.1 1.5 1.6
7.1 1.3 8.8
2.2 1.6 7.2

so you could write a little convert utility, and believe me, it works perfect.

Using GetLockedMeshVertex() right?

But are we really going to use a physics engine? That kinda over simplifies things, and I really like looking at long complicated topics.

Well, I watched some tv, ran out of episodes, so I guess I'll start working on the conversion utility :)

Btw, that "4" stands for the 4th polygon, right? Or does it stand for the amount of vertices in the polygon?

@Eanbro:

If your level is not too complicated you can use the collision planes from MysteriXYZ`s portal engine. In my opinion they work best. Un fortunately you`ll have to define them manually... :think:

It`s well-known that everyone, using U3d for his litttle-tiny project just dreams of having cood collisions, but will it be CPU intensive at all? Since this GM is too slow damn... <_<
So I think everything depends on the case, so I will adivce you:

"Choose wisely, my son..."

Just giving my opinion....Trying to help ^_^

And if I bleed I`ll bleed, knowing you don`t care... And if I sleep just to dream of you I`ll wake without you there... Isn`t something missing?..

Amount of polygons in the mesh.

amount of polygons
polygon1 x y z
polygon2 x y z
etc...

Bami, that doesn't make any sense, because you cant define a polygon with only 1 set of x,y,z coords.

Precisely. What exactly is MysteriXYZ's portal engine? What is supposed to do?

Thats all very nice, except the U3d doesn't have the function: intersectSphere() ><

Update: MysteriXYZ's portal example is just what I need! :D

EDIT: It doesn't seem like his example would work with models...like shadows lair said you would have to define the planes manually. Maybe theres a way of extracting data through U3d's model manipulation functions?
