Hi and welcome to the forum, Moolt :).

If you just want to change the general colour or self-illumination of a material, you can use SetModelMaterial(MaterialIndex, R, G, B, A) and SetModelMaterialEmissive(MaterialIndex, R, G, B ). If you know the names of the materials, you can find MaterialIndex with GetMaterialIndex(MaterialName), since a *.3ds file contains those names.

If you want to do more advanced texturing, you will have to use the multi texturing functions.
U3D is like candy; after extensive consumption, it's Best to brush.

I think he just wanted to know how to get textures onto a model in general, not necessarily with code.

The answer is, that you just need to apply the textures to the materials in the modeling program of your choice (e.g. Anim8or, Blender or 3DS Max). If you place the textures in the gfx folder of your game Ultimate 3D will load them automatically. I just noticed that this isn't stated clearly in the current version of the help file, I'll improve this in the next version.

P.S.: Welcome to the Ultimate 3D Community ;) .
