Fading Textures.

How would i go about getting a model to fade between 2 textures?

Draw two models, one fading in, one fading out. (with SetModelMaterial(...))
Make sure the two models combined transparency always >=1 otherwise the trick will be obvious.

Would this require a lot of computing time (to change the material transparency every step)?
