I think its time for a community game. Anyone else agree? I was thinking along the lines of an online game but not a big advanced one, something simple. Maybe a 3D version of this game: http://www.owensworld.com/flashgames/play-662.htm I could be in charge of modeling the city and texturing and such, maybe with Bami's help since thats what gave me the idea (his renders). ok that's what im talking about a design doc while it doesn't have enough info for a person to look at it and make a game its a start and for this game all we need ok now you still need to work closely with everyone in the project but start handing out tasks for people starting with

Cool document. BUt I definitely think there should be a skybox and much less fog (and not so dark.) The damage system should be realistic, since we have the new function GetInstersectedMaterialIndex(). The name can definitely wait. Are we going to texture my tank model? Personally I think it is good.

Wait, so the tanks shoot missiles? What happned to shells? I think regular tank shells should be free but do very little damage. I see this as a CS style game, where you buy your weapons in the beginning of the round and use them up to get as much money as you can for the next one. But you forgot one thing, are there going to be respawns? For freestyle there should be an option for respawns on/off. For respawns on, you should get your money once you die, and for every kill, you get a boost. Just a thought. As for the engine, the tanks roll across the terrain better than any vehicle example currently on the forum :P. |

If your referring to my screenies EanBro, as stated there from U3D Studio, so not technically in game, but in U3D. As for the rest im getting frustrated because i have half yearly exams on over the next week and a half so im sorry if im busy for those 12 or so days. For those 12 days i leave Ashrat in charge because hes the main contributor. And EanBro ill try to texture the tank when i have some time. PS: And shells are free. Right, so I want a tropical lemonade, someone to fan me with palm tree leaves, a cot, and a flight to the Bahamas all paid for. Ironically, I have finals next week too.
I'd love to upload it, but my computer is acting up and crashes explorer a lot (I stole my dad's laptop to go on the forum). I'll do it as soon as I can. Anyway, before I start programming the shooting, I need to know how the tanks are going to be rigged. If they are with bones, the shell/missile will be created on the bone and travel in the direction it's facing (or something). All the tanks need to be rigged the same way, so we need to come up with a standard. In my opinion, the bones are the easiest (as soon as I figure out how to get the xyz position of a bone).
