In games like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, there's a day and night cycle, where (in GTA SA in particular) it goes from day to night in 24 minutes. How would I do the same thing in U3D in about an hour?

First, you could use a high res timer to find the time. If your game runs at 60 frames per second, you could set the resolution of the timer to 60. That means it would be 3600 frames per minute, which would be 216000 per hour. You can use that to find the amount the colors need to change, or you can tell the system to start a series of changes when the marker reaches certain values. Then change the ambient color, background, and sun color until you get what you want.
