I am having a problem with the model viewer, I'm using blender and when I create a new material for my model then export it the model viewer and ultimate 3d gives me this error, "The material chunk identifier of one of the materials in one of the *.u3d files is invalid. Most likely this is the result of a slightly wrong password." But I have no password on anything. Is this a bug or did I do something wrong? |

You could try making sure that you're using the most recent DLL and re-download the model viewer. |

I believe the model viewer uses U3d 2.0 beta. |

This is most likely a bug in the Ultimate 3D export plugin for Blender. I have fixed several bugs in it over time and uploaded new versions whenever I did this. So please download the plugin again and check, whether you still get that problem. If this does not solve the problem I would appreciate, if you would send me your *.blend file, so I can debug the plugin with this. @ skarik If I remember it correctly, I updated the model viewer for Ultimate 3D 2.1 beta. |

Ok, I do have the updated exporter and I still get the same error. You can try this with any .blend file as long as you add a new material but here is a .blend file with a new material added Here. |

Well, I tried it exactly with the same software and it worked. Maybe I can get some relevant information, if you upload one of the corrupted *.u3d files. |

I checked the file and I was able to find the cause of the problem (most likely). I have updated the plugin download with a new fixed version. Something else you might want to know is that the file you uploaded was not created with the most current version of the plugin for sure. Please make sure that you really do download the plugin, when you download it again. Your browser might have the file in cache and in this case it would not download it again. To be on the safe side open the *.py file in notepad and check whether it contains this line:

Hey, It finally worked! Thank you But now I need to know how to get blender's uv texturing to work. I've only found out one way to get a texture on but the image is not displayed as I want it. And I can't seem to do much with the image ether.

UV mapping is very tedious work. Make use of seams when mapping using Ctrl-E. For more information, PM me or look for tutorials online. |
