Because it applies the texture to the whole model if you make the model a certain way.

You could always map the model with different textures in certain places, export it, and then apply the textures. It should separate the sections into different materials. |

It might be, but first you have to have it. If you don't, might as well start saving or get another plan, because in the ballpark between 3000 and 5000 bucks a pop, it's not cheap. If you have it, that's great. It's probably easier, and most likely has features Blender doesn't have (at its cost, it better). |
