is there an inverse for that function that makes a model apear above all on screen models? if not can a shader solve this predicement? yes there are otherway to stop gun models from going through walls but this seems much easier if ced fuction exists
My instinct is to hide in this barrel, like the wily fish.

The best and simplest way is just to make sure that the gun is close to the camera, and is scaled down a little bit. I imagine it's possible, but I wouldn't want to use a shader, because it means no bump mapping, no environment mapping, or anything else that requires a shader.

Well, skarik has a shader that will put it on top of everything, but he doesn't want to share it with me. :P
Scaling the gun works, but you lose lighting. I'm not sure if skariks shader works with lighting properly.

And I bet Dr.Best is going to post here saying that its possible in Ultimate 3d 3.0 ;) .

oh ya and then when we get exited about u3d 3.0 he says not to and that it will most probably not be publicly released
