No. You should have the ellipsoid like this:

[img][/img]

Ask Gandalf 20000, he got it to work.
Hey, that reminds me of Stickman's old collision!

I got rid of it because it let me climb slopes.
Your new collision lets me walk on a one pixel edge :P
Yeah, well, I'm not sure what code I'm using, actually. I guess I'm using the old one. Har har.

Well I said it would do that. *automatic mantle* Also on steep slopes it should slide down.

Maybe adding a 2nd ellipsoid might work.

Anyway Stickman had problems with jumping on sloped surfaces.

So do most commercial games, anyhow, except Prey.

Such as? I've never played any.

The only games that have this problem are those of Game Maker.

Really? I have the problem all the time with the old GoldSrc games, though the problem seems fixed in Source in the recent Steam updates.

Doom had the problem, as well as Duke Nukem, now and then.

o yeah, btw, you always want no sliding by default. Having the ellipsoid constantly intersect the planes loses unneccesary framerates. You never want to have to have actions in your game that you didn't define yourself, it can lead to unknown problems later. Besdes, the sliding that comes about by having the ellipsoid intersect with the slope, is not very good at all. A good sliding should accelerate, it looks better and you can't climb up steep slopes that way.
