All I want is the illusion that my waterfall's water is being affected by gravity, I'd like to be able to recreate the effect you see in countless Nintendo Games, including Smash Brothers, and Mario 64. |

Check out the scrolling texture shader here. |

This can be done in 10 minutes with 2 textures and the u3d particle system. |

ApethePaptehpah! I'm happy that people reply to the topic, but neither of you are being helpful. Ashrat3000, I looked at that before, but it's got a hole bunch of stuff that I don't want, let alone need, I mean I don't need a bunch of layers upon layers of textures going in differeant directions with differeant alphas. All I want is to get one simple layer of texture to scroll in one direction. Despellanion, what's going on here is: I'm asking: "How to you make chocolate Chip coockies?" and your responding: "Well when you get it all set up, you can just stick it in the oven for 30 minutes then it will be all good." Then I say: "Umm yea... I still don't know how to make them..." With all do respect, Can you people please be a bit more strait forward? |

You're absolutely right. Let me look for the original. Edit: It's in a stickied topic too! http://forum.ultimate3d.org/topic/172997/1/ Edited by skarik, Jan 31 2009, 08:08 PM.

I don't get it, I don't get it... If I'm supposed to be downloading the one with the funky blue texture scrolling across some panel, I see it happening, but have no idea how it's doing it.... I want to be able to make a *.bit-map texture scroll across a *.3ds lake. |

Yes thats what the shader does. It takes your texture and scrolls it across the model. Just replace your texture with the one in the example and your model with the one in the example. |

By making that reply to your question, I was of course assuming that you have already looked for help in the manual (which you should, as well as everyone else) before making this topic, and thereby already understood the meaning of my reply and what you should try. I apologize if my reply was too vague. Edited by Despellanion, Feb 1 2009, 11:41 PM.

Despellanion, I made this topic because I did not understand a way to do it in the manual. Of course I have read the manual, but just because I read it, doesn't mean I can comprehend all of it. ashrat3000 what do you mean replace my stuff with the ones in the example? I don't want the texture in the example, and the model in the example is not the correct shape. Edited by saijee, Feb 1 2009, 11:59 PM.

Thats why I said replace it. Read the manual on shader effects. You need a shader to do this properly. |

Oh, well I you confused be, because that is NOT what you said: What you said: Replace your texture and model with the ones in the example as opposed to what you meant: Replace the textue and model in the example with yours. edit--- I replaced the stuff with platform.3ds and plat_tex.3ds And it does NOT work.
